Aksoy Among the Latest Casualties

Livello 27 : Blinds 50,000/100,000, 100,000 ante

Jose Aguilera had doubled with KQ on a board of 988QQ as an ace of Yaroslav Ohulchanskyi was not enough to deal the final blow.

Soon after, Tinay Aksoy was ousted by Alec Torelli who held the best hand with Q9 for a flush on the 10637Q runout, which beat the Ax8x of Aksoy that had just been mucked.

O'Neill Breaches 12,000,000 with Sneaky Set

Livello 27 : Blinds 50,000/100,000, 100,000 ante
Jack O'Neill
Jack O'Neill

Jack O'Neill had a big pile of chips pushed in front of him after seeing off Ryan Brown. O'Neill briefly recapped the hand to PokerNews.

O'Neil said he opened in the cutoff and called when Brown three-bet from the small blind.

O'Neill then called for 600,000 on the Kx6x5x flop, bringing the pot to about 3,000,000.

On the 10x turn O'Neill called another bet of 1,100,000, and he called when his opponent jammed for 2,500,000 on the 4x river.

Brown had AxQx for ace-high while O'Neill had a set with his 10x10x.

Andrew Dea three-bet to 500,000 from middle position before Mitchell Halverson shoved for 1,950,000 under the gun. Dea tanked for a moment before calling.

Dea took out his phone and began filming the action as Halverson spiked top pair on the A95 flop to take the lead. The K turn gave him two pair, and Halverson secured the double up on the 6 river.

"Got my heart racing," Dea said as he handed over the pot. "That was fun."

Aditya Systla had previously lost more than half his stack and then got in preflop what he had left, seven blinds, with KJ. Artem Metalidi had him dominated with the AK and the ace-high remained in the lead all the way on a Q8595 runout.

Grise Gets a Double

Livello 27 : Blinds 50,000/100,000, 100,000 ante

Picking up the action partway through the hand, Benjamin Grise from middle position was all in and at risk against Daniel Vampan in the big blind.

Benjamin Grise: KK
Daniel Vampan: JJ

Grise was well ahead and that remained the case on the 106A flop. The Q turn changed little besides swapping Vampan's outs, and the Q river confirmed a full double-up for Grise.

Wantman Shoves on Vampan

Livello 27 : Blinds 50,000/100,000, 100,000 ante
Matthew Wantman
Matthew Wantman

Heads up on a 798 flop with around 1,000,000 already in the pot, Matthew Wantman checked to Daniel Vampan, who bet 500,000 from the button.

Wantman then moved all in for 1,700,000 from the small blind and Vampan ripped off his headphones and kneeled down on his seat as he tanked for several minutes.

"Will you tell me later? I would tell you," he asked Wantman before folding as the two players continued discussing the hand while Wantman stacked up the pot.

Time for Tough Folds

Livello 27 : Blinds 50,000/100,000, 100,000 ante

The action folded to Diego D'Aquilio, who opened from middle position for 200,000. Both Jan-Peter Jachtmann in the hijack and John Racener in the big blind made the call.

The flop came A83 and Racener checked to D'Aquilio, who continued for 375,000. Only Jachtmann called. On the J turn D'Aquilio took a few seconds before moving all in for 2,285,000 and Jachtmann went deep in the tank.

After several minutes of thought, Jachtmann rolled over the A to show the big fold and D'Aquilio scooped the pot.

Nicolas Rigby
Nicolas Rigby

For the second time in three years, Nicholas Rigby was eliminated on Day 6 of the World Series of Poker (WSOP) Main Event, this time for losing a race on the featured table.

The Pittsburgh area poker player who was one of the more entertaining characters in the field, went out in 131st place ($67,700) in the largest Main Event ever (10,043 entries). He finished 52nd in 2021, and like this year, spent much of his final few sessions seated at the PokerGO live-stream tables.
