Ghio Folds Ladies

Livello 28 : Blinds 60,000/120,000, 120,000 ante

Toby Lewis opened to 250,000 from under the gun and Joe Ghio three-bet to 600,000 in the cutoff. Lewis called as the action got back around.

Lewis checked on the J105 flop and Ghio continued for 1,200,000. Lewis called. Lewis checked again on the 5 turn and Ghio checked back.

The A river completed the board and Lewis led out for 2,000,000. Ghio went in the tank for over five minutes, taking off his glasses and apologizing to his table mates, who told him to take his time.

Ghio eventually folded QxQx face-up.

Berk Doubles Through Richez

Livello 28 : Blinds 60,000/120,000, 120,000 ante

Clement Richez raised to 225,000 in early position and was called by Spencer Taylor in the cutoff. Michael Berk slid out a reraise to 3,210,000, and only Richez called.

The flop came 774, and Berk checked to Richez, who announced all-in. Berk looked around the room and then called off his last 115,000 chips.

Michael Berk: AK
Clement Richez: AQ

Berk was in the lead, and the K on the turn cemented that position. Richez was drawing dead to the 9 on the river and would have to send over a double-up.

FiveThirtyEight founder Nate Silver went deep in the 2023 World Series of Poker (WSOP) Main Event, but ran into a cooler situation on Day 6 and was sent home during the third level of the session.

The former online poker player appeared on the PokerGO feature table on Wednesday where he spent most of the session with a middling stack. He won a race for his tournament life against Nikita Luther to stay alive at one point, doubling back up to around 45 big blinds, but that was about the end of his good fortune in poker's world championship event.

Geilich Takes Cautious Approach

Livello 28 : Blinds 60,000/120,000, 120,000 ante

Mikael Berrio opened to 250,000 from under the gun and was called by Ludovic Geilich in the big blind.

Geilich checked following the 673 flop and Berrio continued for 350,000. The Scottish pro did not immediately fold, but, with one eye on the tournament clock that showed a pay jump was imminent, Geilich eventually mucked his holding to leave himself short.

Big Blind Special for Chang

Livello 28 : Blinds 60,000/120,000, 120,000 ante

Steven Spunt raised to 240,000 from under the gun and Allen Chang defended from the big blind. The flop came 722 and within moments, the two players had all of their chips in the middle.

Allen Chang: K2
Steven Spunt: JJ

Chang flopped trip deuces from the big blind and Spunt was drawing to two outs. The Q and 10 runout just missed him and Chang doubled up with a stack of 2,465,000. Spunt was left with just 100,000 after the hand but managed to survive thus far.

Obregon Leaves Auer Frustrated on the River

Livello 28 : Blinds 60,000/120,000, 120,000 ante

Bryan Obregon opened to 250,000 with 55 and received calls by Maurice Hawkins holding A10 and big blind Matthias Auer with 64.

All three players checked the 347 flop before Auer led out for 580,000 on the 4 turn after making trips. Obregon called while Hawkins got out of the way.

The 5 river improved Auer to a straight, but also gave Obregon a full house. Auer bet another 290,000 and Obregon then moved all in.

Auer shook his head in frustration as he pondered the call for his last 1,300,000 before folding.

Four-Way All-In Results in Two Casualties

Livello 28 : Blinds 60,000/120,000, 120,000 ante

Steven Spunt had lost the vast majority of his stack in the previous hand and was in the big blind next. Yaroslav Ohulchanskyi raised from the hijack and Bradley Moskowitz jammed all-in from the cutoff with a shorter stack.

Allen Chang moved in from the small blind while Spunt was in there from the next seat. Ohulchanskyi called all-in to create a four-way all-in on a pay jump with three players at risk.

Steven Spunt: 65
Bradley Moskowitz: AK
Yaroslav Ohulchanskyi: KK
Allen Chang: 99

The board ran out 5327Q and Spunt fell in 81st place, while Moskowitz earned the pay jump in 80th place. Ohulchanskyi won the side pots and soared past Chang.

"I was waiting for this hand all day long," Moskowitz said before he and Spunt were escorted to the payout desk.
