"What a Joke"

Livello 23 : Blinds 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante
Jason Liu
Jason Liu

Richard Ryder raised 80,000 in the cutoff and Harsheel Kothari called in the small blind before Jason Liu three-bet 240,000 from the big blind. Ryder called, and Kothari made the fold.

The flop of 1084 received checks from both players and the 2 hit the turn.

Liu led out for 310,000 and Ryder made the call.

When the A landed on the river, Liu took a moment before cutting out a bet of 600,000. Ryder instantly announced a call while tabling 1010 for a set of tens on the flop. Liu rolled over his AA, rivering the highest set and Ryder exploded out of his chair and walked about 10 feet away. A tablemate peeled the 600,000 off his stack for the dealer to reach and sent it to Liu.

After a few seconds, Ryder came back and said, "What a joke. What an absolute joke."

Elanit Hasas
Elanit Hasas

Elanit Hasas opened to 80,000 from under the gun and Pier Papadia flat-called on the button. The flop came QQ4 and Hasas continued with a bet of 80,000 which Papadia called.

The turn was the 5 and Hasas fired out another bet of 250,000. Papadia still called and the 8 landed on the river. Hasas bet 450,000 on the river and Papadia shoved all in. Hasas snapped off her last few chips and tabled her JxJx. Papadia held Q8 for a full house and Hasas was eliminated.

Luther Check-Raises Racener

Livello 23 : Blinds 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante
Nikita Luther
Nikita Luther

John Racener opened in early position and the button called before Nikita Luther also called in the big blind.

The flop of 10KQ checked through and Luther checked again on the 2 turn. Racener bet 140,000 and the button folded before Luther check-raised to 420,000. Racener sat still with a cap covering his eyes and called.

The Q river completed the board and Luther took about a minute before betting a hefty 1,250,000. Racener took about the same time to fold.

Racener On the Rise

Livello 23 : Blinds 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante

Steven Spunt opened to 85,000 from early position and was called by John Racener in the cutoff. Jules Dickerson then moved all in for 885,000 on the button. Spunt thought for quite some time before folding while Racener quickly called with the covering stack.

Jules Dickerson: QJ
John Racener: AK

Racener held the lead but Dickerson did have two live cards as well as potential straight and flush draws. The JQ2 flop immediately launched Dickerson into the lead but it was short lived as the 10 hit the turn to improve Racener to broadway. Dickerson would need to fill up on the river to survive but could not do so as the 7 rolled off the deck instead to hand Racener a second knockout in the span of just a few minutes.

Laborda Flops Big to Triple Up

Livello 23 : Blinds 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante
Hilton Laborda
Hilton Laborda

Picking up the action live on the flop on the side feature table, Hilton Laborda on the button was involved in a hand with James Jeffrey in late position as well as Gar Cheung in the big blind. With the board reading 232 Jeffrey had both of his opponents all in and at risk.

Gar Cheung: K10
Hilton Laborda: A2
James Jeffrey: KK

Laborda had flopped trips to put himself in good position to get a triple up. The 3 turn immediately ended Cheung's hopes of outright victory by removing his flush outs while Jeffrey was left needing to hit the case king to scoop the pot. The A river kept Laborda best to send Cheung out of the tournament while putting a significant dent in Jeffrey's stack.

Dea Gets Rivered But Captures a Good Video

Livello 23 : Blinds 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante

Jordan Schneider moved all in for 545,000 from under the gun and Andrew Dea called on the button.

Jordan Schneider: KQ
Andrew Dea: AQ

Dea took out his phone and began filming the action as the board came 210103, keeping him in the lead. The river, though, was the K and Dea dropped his phone on the table after Schneider spiked the river to stay alive.

"I felt it," Dea said.

"That's going to make a good video," a tablemate joked with Dea, who remained in good spirits despite the bad beat.

Melton Rivers It, Li Busts

Livello 23 : Blinds 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante

Henri Li raised to 80,000 from under the gun and received no less than three callers. Oghenovo Constare, Aditya Systla and Charles Melton all came along and saw a flop of 256.

Melton then checked from the big blind before Li put in a bet of 90,000. Constare called before Systla got out of the way. Melton still wanted to be in the pot as well and put in the chips.

The 5 turn saw Melton promptly lead for a huge bet of 350,000. Li quickly folded but Constare still stuck around. The two remaining players then checked through the K river before they showed down.

Melton showed J7 for the rivered flush and Constare let out a big sigh before mucking his cards. The four-way action increased Melton's stack nicely, and he is now playing almost 100 big blinds.

Li would bust not much later in an unseen hand.

Racener Forces Wolf to the Exits

Livello 23 : Blinds 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante

Picking up the action partway through the hand, John Racener in the cutoff had Daniel Wolf in the small blind all in at risk.

Daniel Wolf: AQ
John Racener: AK

Wolf was dominated and would need significant help to survive. None came, however, on the 5J368 runout to bring Wolf's tournament to an end while sending some much needed chips over to Racener.
