Big Blind Special for Dea

Livello 23 : Blinds 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante

Charlie Chiu opened to 85,000 from under the gun and was called by Pei Li from the hijack. Charles He and Andrew Dea called from the blinds.

Action checked to Li on the 822 flop, who bet 100,000. He folded before Dea made it 275,000. Chiu returned his cards to the dealer and Li called.

Li then called bets of 250,000 and 400,000 on the Q turn and 3 river.

Dea turned over 52 for trip deuces and Li mucked.

Good Call for Bonacci

Frank Bonacci
Frank Bonacci

Frank Bonacci raised 90,000 in the hijack and Dan Wilson came along in the big blind.

The AAJ flop hit the felt, and Wilson check-called a bet of 55,000.

The 7 fell on the turn and both players checked to the 8 river. Wilson led for 225,000 and Bonacci made the call. Wilson tabled a busted straight draw with Q10, and Bonacci showed 22 to drag the pot.

Kevin Gimble was all in for 650,000 from under the gun and Diego Ramos called in middle position.

Kevin Gimble: A8
Diego Ramos: KQ

Ramos picked up a straight draw on the 9102 flop, but Gimble remained in front following the 6 turn. The river, though, brought the J and Ramos completed his straight to send Gimble to the payout desk.

Li Gets Sucked Out of the Tournament

Livello 23 : Blinds 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante

In an earlier post, it was mentioned that Henry Li had been eliminated from the Main Event. He was kind enough to stop by the PokerNews desk to tell how it had happened.

Charles Melton raised to 80,000 from the button and Li three-bet jammed 840,000 from the small blind. The big blind got out of the way and Melton made the call.

Henry Li: 1010
Charles Melton: 8x8x

The flop remained clean for Li with AK9, but the turn spelled disaster when the 8 gave Melton a set. No ten arrived on the K river and Li was ousted from the tournament.

To add some salt to the wound, someone mentioned they had folded an eight preflop, making Li's bad beat a pure one-outer.

Peppin Celebrates Before It's Over

Livello 23 : Blinds 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante

Stephen Peppin was down to around 10 big blinds and shoved all in from middle position. Nathan Paytas was next to act and asked for a count before making the call. The rest of the table folded and the two hands were face up.

Stephen Peppin: QQ
Nathan Paytas: KK

Not only did Paytas have the better of the two pairs, but he also had both of the suits covered. The flop came J104 and Paytas was still in the lead. The Q rolled off on the turn and Peppin clapped his hands to celebrate his set of queens. However, the A hit the river and Paytas made a straight to eliminate Peppin.

Next Gen's Frankie Will Have to Wait for Next Year to Win Main Event

Frank Cucchiara
Frank Cucchiara

Frank Cucchiara of Next Gen Poker was in the big blind in a heads-up pot against Keanu Tabali on a board of 87AQ.

Cucchiara checked on the turn and his opponent bet 215,000. With his phone filming the action, the content creator jammed for his last 300,000 or so. Despite getting an excellent price, Tabali did not immediately call. After about thirty seconds, he did call.

Frank Cucchiara: 107
Keanu Tabali: AA

Cucchiara had just a pair of tens to be drawing dead against the top set of Tabali as the 10 river confirmed the elimination of "Frankie."

Tosoc Barrels Twice

Livello 23 : Blinds 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante

Ryan Tosoc limped in from the hijack and Robert Coakley made it 80,000 from the big blind. Tosoc made the call.

The flop came A28. Tosoc bet 45,000 and was called by his opponent.

Tosoc fired again on the 10 turn for 70,000 and it was enough to force a fold from Coakley.

Yokosawa Loses a Pot; Remains Big Stack

Livello 23 : Blinds 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante
Masato Yokosawa
Masato Yokosawa

According to French poker media, Masato Yokosawa soared near the top of the leaderboard a few minutes ago when he knocked out Clay Johnson in a four-bet pot when the latter called a shove on the 7623 turn with pocket nines. Yokosawa had pocket aces and held on the Q river.

Yokosawa put the new found chips to use with a raise to 85,000 in the cutoff and Robert French defended the big blind. French check-called the A103 flop for 55,000 and the 4 turn for 165,000.

French also checked the J river and Yokosawa bet 400,000. The check-shove by French followed and Yokosawa instantly folded.

"He is human!" Christopher Kimmel in the nine seat exclaimed.
