Belluscio Torn Down by Tweedlie

Livello 13 : Blinds 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante
Julio Belluscio
Julio Belluscio

Former chip leader Julio Belluscio got involved in another pot on Day 3 of the Main Event. A board of 5922 was fanned out, with around 55,000 chips in the middle.

Belluscio checked from the big blind after which Michael Tweedlie made an overbet of 80,000 from early position. A third player quickly got out of the way before Belluscio confirmed the amount and made the call.

The Q river then fell and Belluscio checked to Tweedlie. Tweedlie would make another massive bet when he shoved all in for 329,500 chips, a stack worth more than the current average.

Belluscio went over his options for a few minutes before ultimately sticking in the call. Tweedlie showed down 55 for fives full of deuces, and Belluscio was forced to show his Q9 for two pair.

Belluscio had over one million not too long ago, but now is playing a stack worth just over 100,000 chips in the third level of Day 3.

Yoshida Hero Calls Somerville

Livello 13 : Blinds 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante

Aiki Yoshida raised from the button to 8,000, finding Jason Somerville in the big blind who called.

The flop of 8J5 checked through to the J on the turn. Somerville took the lead for 11,000 and Yoshida called.

The river came the 5 and Somerville bet again; this time for 40,000. Yoshida didn't take long in making the call.

Jason Somerville: 97
Aiki Yoshida: K10

Yoshida correctly called down with just king-high.

"You know it's a good hand when it gets a write up" Sommerville said to Yoshida as he raked in the pot.

Randy Ohel: K8
Bogdan Munteanu: 99

Aziz On Right Side of a Cooler

Livello 13 : Blinds 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante

Renan Aziz raised to 9,000 from the cutoff and was called by both the button and small blind Ryan Garcia before an opponent in the big blind moved all in for 110,000. Aziz called while the other two players got out of the way.

All-In Player: QQ
Renan Aziz: AA

Aziz had woken up with aces and left his opponent drawing nearly dead following the 8A2 flop as he had top set. The board ran out 72 and Aziz sent his opponent to the rail and his stack up to 800,000.

Action was picked up on the river. Players were heads up, the board read 34JQ9 and there was about 110,000 in the pot. Brandon Shack-Harris had checked and Lander Lijo had moved all in for approximately 115,000, sending Shack-Harris into the tank.

After a couple minutes Shack-Harris put in the call only to be shown the bad news when Lijo tabled JJ for a set of jacks to secure a full double up.

The Phantom of the Horseshoe is Gone

Livello 13 : Blinds 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante

Ronald Hayhurst started today with 129,000 chips and has just been eliminated after being forced all in from the big blind.

However, Hayhurst actually never sat down. His seat had remained empty throughout the day, paying the blinds and antes and receiving two cards no one would ever get to play with over and over again.

After three levels on Day 3, it was finally the end of Hayhurst's Main Event adventure.

Mzareulov Forces a Fold from Shelton

Livello 13 : Blinds 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante

Justin Shelton raised to 8,000 and got called by David Mzareulov on the button and the blinds to create a four-way pot.

The flop appeared 8A7 and it checked to Mzareulov who bet 15,000. Only Shelton decided to called to stay in the pot.

The turn was the J and Shelton check-called again, this time for 35,000.

When the 8 landed on the river, Shelton checked and faced a bet worth 150,000 from Mzareulov, putting him at risk for a remaining stack around 120,000.

After some thinking, Shelton eventually folded and Mzareulov added the chips to his stack.

Crooks Shows the Aces in Four-Bet Pot

Livello 13 : Blinds 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante

Derek Crooks opened 10,000 in the hijack, and the cutoff three-bet to 30,000. The button and blinds quickly got out of the way before Crooks four-bet to 80,000.

The cutoff went deep in the tank, saying, "My first premium."

After about two minutes, the cutoff made the call.

The dealer spread a flop of J74, and Crooks moved all-in, covering his opponent. The cutoff had 115,000 remaining and eventually let it go. Crooks let him know he made a good fold, tabling AA.

Schiavo Busts During "Beer Level"

Livello 13 : Blinds 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante

Matthew Schiavo was down to just 21,000 and pushed all in from early position.

"No regard for the dinner break," a tablemate asked him.

"I don't care. I already started drinking. Beer level started early," Schiavo replied. "Remember this when I finish third," he added as Lucas Pochat called in middle position.

Matthew Schiavo: 1010
Lucas Pochat: AA

"I can crack those," Schiavo said optimistically, but his hope proved misguided as the board ran out QK667, sending him to the rail just before the break.
