Ohel's Good Hand Eliminates Marius-Co's Good Hand (With Bonus Commentary)

Livello 12 : Blinds 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante
Randy Ohel
Randy Ohel

Randy Ohel called a late position player's raise of 7,000 from the button. Nstantin Iftimia Marius-Co, the big blind, moved all in for 155,000. Ohel called, and the cards were turned over.

Nstantin Iftimia Marius-Co: AQ
Randy Ohel: 99

The monotone K34 flop most benefitted Ohel, who was the only one holding a spade. The flush completed on the 2 turn, and Marius-Co exited the tournament after the meaningless K river.

"Good game," Ohel told Marius-Co.

Andy Frankenberger, also at the table, joined Ohel to provide analysis to PokerNews after the hand.

"I think it threw him off when I asked for a count," said Ohel. "I told him 'I called with a good hand. I wish it was a really good hand.'"

"His opponent said 'I also have a good hand,'" added Frankenberger. "I think Randy read into that. I figured he was begging for a call with ace-king."

After being left short by Bill Klein earlier in the level, Sergio Aguero's deep run came to an end.

As recounted by his former table, Aguero found himself all in and at risk for his last 6,000 chips, finding two callers.

Sergio Aguero: 5x5x
Opponent 1: Ax10x
Thien Chung WU: Qx10x

The pocket fives of Aguero couldn't hold as the board had Thien Chung WU's hand improve to a full house by the river.

Livello 12 : Blinds 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante

Three players saw a flop of QJ9, and the action quickly checked to the 2 turn. Khamsy Bowles was first to act and fired out a bet of 7,000. Eric Salazar folded but the third player in the hand made the call.

The 3 completed the board, and Bowles continued for 11,000. Her opponent paused for a few seconds before pushing her cards into the muck.

Lee Wai Kiat has been quietly building a stack, having more than doubled his Day 3 starting stack to 733,000.

Adams Pulls Off Audacious Bluff

Livello 12 : Blinds 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante

Picking up the action on the river, Matthew Adams in the big blind was involved in a hand with Thomas McCartney in middle position. With the board reading 9JK2K and over 200,000 already in the middle, Adams pushed forward a bet of 185,000. That did not appear to sit too well with McCartney who told the table "I flopped the nuts, I've got queen-ten." After only a minute or two, McCartney open folded Qx10x but was shown the bad news after Adams flipped over A10 for the stone cold bluff. McCartney managed a "nice hand" as he saw a massive pot shipped towards his opponent.
