Carey's Fairy Tale Continues

Livello 9 : Blinds 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante
Irene Carey
Irene Carey

Irene Carey had turned her 188,000 to start the day into a stack of nearly 300,000 when she got involved in a hand against Gerald Siemienas.

With 15,000 chips already in the pot on a flop 4K8, she led out for 4,500 from under the gun and Sieminis made the call. Carey then slowed down on the Q turn and check-called an 8,000 bet from Siemienas instead.

On the 7 river, Carey retook the initiative and bet a whopping 27,500. This was enough to let Siemienas fold and Carey raked in another pot as her Day 2 keeps going swimmingly.

Pinkham Takes From Weisman

Livello 9 : Blinds 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante

Dylan Weisman opened to 3,000 from the cutoff and only Rodney Pinkham made the call from the big blind.

The flop came A86 and both players checked their options to the J turn. Pinkham took the lead with a bet of 4,500 and Weisman came along.

The K completed the board and the action checked to a showdown. Pinkham quickly tabled KQ for a rivered pair of kings and Weisman nodded as he tossed his cards into the muck and went back to his skipping rope off the table.

Munaf Makes Big Call on River

Livello 9 : Blinds 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante

The player in the cutoff raised to 2,000 and Kamran Munaf called from the big blind. The flop came out 924 and the cutoff made a continuation bet of 2,500 and Munaf called.

With the clubs starting to appear the turn was the 7 and the cutoff kept up his aggression and placed a bet of 15,000. Munaf made the call although it appeared reluctantly.

Now there were straight possibilities galore and the river was the 5. Munaf checked for the third time and the cutoff put his chips in the middle for 125,000.

Munaf said, "I knew that was coming". He then let out a big sigh and counted his chips slowly and suddenly made the call.

Kamran Munaf: J9 for the pair of nines.
Player in the Cutoff: 108 for the missed straight draw.

Rash Takes it on the Turn

Livello 9 : Blinds 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante

Conor Rash raised from the cutoff to 3,500, the player in the small blind three-bet to 9,000 and Rash called.

The small blind continued for 15,000 on a board of 663. Rash responded with a raise to 41,000 earning a snap fold from his opponent.

Despite winning more than his fair share of pots on his table, one of the other players sat beside Rash insisted on telling PokerNews what a nice, young man they thought Rash was, despite the same player continuing to say Rash was "kicking all their asses" on the felt.

Fujita Leaves with a Smile

Livello 9 : Blinds 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante

A completed board of 5544J was fanned out in a pot between Yoshikazu Fujita and Austin Yoo. Fujita had checked to Yoo, and the latter bet enough to put Fujita all-in for roughly 70,000 chips.

With the pot being worth over 100,000 chips at that point, Fujita had a serious decision at hand. Eventually, he put in the call and Yoo immediately flipped over his KK.

Fujita then quickly showed his QQ, laughed, and said his goodbyes to the table as he left the Main Event in good spirits.

Casaly Stuns Da-Silva

Livello 9 : Blinds 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante

Ryan Casaly bet 5,000 from middle position on a flop of A38 before Chris Da-Silva, in the big blind, raised to 13,000.

Casaly called to the J turn, where he called another bet of 13,500. The river came the 6 and this time Da-Silva slowed down and checked.

Casaly then fired out 16,000, sending Da-Silva deep into the tank. He ripped off his headphones and stood up from his seat, eventually kneeling back on his seat and leaning over the table. He eventually held up the chips to call and let them fall in the middle.

Casaly turned over AJ for two pair and Da-Silva threw away A3. "Nice turn," a frustrated Da-Silva said as he sat back down.

Maurice Hawkins
Maurice Hawkins

Maurice Hawkins had been stacking up further chips and the TV crew as well as players at the table and the rail confirmed a double-elimination.

The table was supposed to head to the feature stage but Brandon Mincher as well as David Martin won't get there.

On a three-way flop of J109, Martin bet and Hawkins raised to 30,000. Mincher then jammed and Martin called all-in, Hawkins called both of them.

David Martin: 1010
Brandon Mincher: KQ
Maurice Hawkins: A7

The A turn and 8 river changed nothing as Hawkins chipped up even further.
