Lombardozzi Takes From Casey

Michael Casey opened to 2,200 from early position and both the player in the hijack and Leo Lombardozzi in the big blind made the call.

The flop came 8♦4♣2♣ and Lombardozzi checked to Casey who continued for 2,400, which only Lombardozzi came along. The 10♥ hit the turn and Lombardozzi check-called another bet from Casey, this time for 4,200.

On the 5♣ river both players checked their options to a showdown. Lombardozzi announced "eight" and rolled over J♠8♣. Casey double-checked his cards, but eventually sent them to the muck and the pot was sent to Lombardozzi.

The hijack raised to 3,000, finding Michael Holmes in the cutoff who three-bet to 8,000. The original raiser called.

The flop of K♥8♦4♦ checked through to the 8♣ on the turn. The hijack now took the lead for 12,000 and Holmes made the call.

The 6♥ fell on the river and the hand checked to a showdown.

Hawkins Wreaks Havoc on the Joses, Seizes Chip Lead

When walking by Maurice Hawkins' table, he was raking in a huge pot and sitting on a stack of nearly 400,000. A spectator was kind enough to relay the action that had happened to PokerNews.

Apparently, someone at the table had raised to 2,400 and Jose Ortiz called from middle position. Maurice Hawkins was on the button and made a big three-bet to 15,300, which only Ortiz called.

The flop was then spread 5♠3♣2♦ and Ortiz checked to Hawkins, who made a continuation-bet of 16,000. Ortiz then raised to 40,000 and Hawkins called.

Ortiz fired another bet in on the 8♣ turn, this time of 50,000 chips. Again, Hawkins made the call and the pair saw the 5x river. Ortiz slowed down and checked to Hawkins, and the latter went all-in, covering his opponent.

Ortiz quickly made the call and was shown the AxAx by Hawkins. Ortiz also played an overpair, but the smallest one with 9x9x. Ortiz was eliminated and Hawkins shot up to a stack of almost 400,000.

Not much later, Jose Paz-Gutierrez's seat was also seen empty and Hawkins played an even bigger stack. He is now the far-and-away chip leader in Red with more than 500,000 chips.

Burkart Makes a Straight in Three-Way Pot

Brittney Stout raised to 3,000 from middle position and was called by both Chad McMahon on the button and small blind Alexander Burkart.

All three players checked the 9♥8♣Q♦ flop before Burkart led out for 3,200 on the J♦ turn.

Stout quickly got out of the way, but McMahon stuck around to see the 2♣ river. Burkart then fired out another 10,000 and McMahon called.

Burkart turned over 10♠10♥ for a turned straight and McMahon mucked.

Dwan Gets Paid on the River

Tom Dwan and an opponent went heads-up to the river on a completed board of 8♣7♣4♥7♠5♣ and around 30,000 already in the middle.

Dwan fired out 24,000 and his opponent tanked for a moment before calling. Dwan then turned over K♥7♥ for trip sevens to win the hand and take down a big pot.

Peery Makes a Hero Fold

Action was picked up midway through the betting preflop. A player in middle position had three-bet all in for 27,000 and Bruce Peery had called from the hijack. Narayan Patel in the big blind then four-bet to 75,000, putting Peery in the tank.

After about 90 seconds Perry folded Q♠Q♣ face up leaving the middle position player all in and at risk against Patel.

Peery had made a great fold as Patel had woken up with the best possible starting hand. The board ran out 5♥10♥5♦7♣10♠, awarding Patel with a sizable pot. The player in middle position was sent to the rail while Peery lived to fight another day.

The flop read 5♥4♠3♠ and Robert Lee led out for 6,000. Both the player on his left and Mayank Madan made the call.

When the 3♥ hit the turn, Lee fired a bet of 15,000, and once again he received two calls.

When the 9♠ completed the board, Lee bet 15,000. The player on his left went all-in for 15,100 before Madan shoved for 16,900. Lee called the rest and all three hands were on their backs.

Lee tabled 7♠6♠ for the nut straight that rivered a flush, the player on his left showed 5♣3♦ for a full house, threes full of fives, but neither hand was good as Madan showed 4♣4♥ for fours full.

In a blind versus blind confrontation, Krisha Augerot and Larry Ormson built a pot of around 20,000 heading to the turn on a board of 10♣K♥3♠7♠.

Both players checked and the A♦ fell on the river. Augerot again checked before Ormson then fired out 11,000. Augerot paused for a moment before calling as Ormson turned over Q♦J♥ for the rivered straight.

"Nice catch," Augerot said.

"I wasn't greedy," Ormson replied.
