Toughest Table in the Main Event?

Livello 9 : Blinds 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante
Reard, Chidwick, Loeser, Maue, et al.
Reard, Chidwick, Loeser, Maue, et al.

When scouring the roughly 250 tables that are currently running on Day 2abc, there are very few that stand out like Table 453. The action folded around to Stephen Chidwick on the button who made it 4,000 to go. Leonard Maue folded his small blind and Manig Loeser called from the big blind.

The flop came Q76 and Loeser checked to Chidwick who continued with a bet of 3,000. Loeser check-raised to 9,500 and Chidwick instantly dispatched his cards.

A few hands later, Alexandre Reard opened to 3,000 in early position and Chidwick three-bet to 9,000 from a couple of seats over. The action folded back to Reard who wanted nothing to do with the high-roller as he quickly folded as well.

Timothy McDermott
Timothy McDermott

Lazar Bartha, James Tilton and Timothy McDermott had gathered 10,000 in the middle when the flop of 62Q was dealt. Bartha and Tilton checked from the blinds and McDermott bet 3,500 from middle position.

Only Bartha made the call and the 3 turn graced the felt. McDermott now upped the ante to 14,000 after another check from Bartha, who called yet again.

The J river then completed the board and both players now checked. Bartha tabled KQ for top pair and McDermott quickly mucked his hand.

Mazzawi Fighting Back from the Brink

Livello 9 : Blinds 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante

The big blind bet 4,500 on a board of 6828 and Christopher Mazzawi called from the cutoff.

When the big blind bet again, this time 17,500 on a 3 river, Mazzawi snapped him off. The big blind showed a busted straight draw, and Mazzawi the nut flush AJ.

"Look at him," Axel Hallay said. "He was about to bust, and now look." Mazzawi confirmed Hallay's admiration, saying he had been down to 19,000 before the dinner break, and had reraised a 14,000 bet all in with just ace five, and spiked the ace that catapulted him toward his current post-dinner-break stack.

Meanwhile at this table, Robert Russ has continued his strong Day 2, chipping up his big stack with what he called, "Some inadvisable hero calls that nevertheless worked out."

Colin Mchugh
Colin Mchugh

In a heads-up pot with roughly 10,000 in the middle on a flop showing 762, Colin Mchugh bet out 4,000 from early position and his opponent on the button raised to 12,000. Mchugh tossed in chips for the call and the pair saw the 2 turn.

Mchugh checked his option to the button who continued with the same size of 12,000 and Mchugh came along. The 2 completed the board and Mchugh checked again. The button took some time, but in the end tapped the table to a showdown.

Mchugh rolled over QQ for a full house and scored the pot when his opponent mucked their hand.
