KMart Nearly Risks It All

Livello 2 : Blinds 200/300, 300 ante
Kevin Martin
Kevin Martin

As relayed to PokerNews from the first level, Kevin Martin raised to 500 in early position and was called by two players in middle position. The big blind three-bet to 3,700 and only Martin called. The flop came Q98 and the big blind checked to Martin who bet 3,400 which his opponent called.

The turn was the 9 and the big blind checked again. Martin sized up a bet of 10,000 and his opponent still called. The river brought the Q and the big blind checked one more time. Martin reached back for a bet of 25,500 and his opponent tanked for a couple of minutes.

"If it's a bluff, it's a hell of a bluff," the big blind said as he folded. Martin was shipped the pot and turned over 3x3x which got a reaction from the rest of his table.

Jorstad Triple Barrels

Livello 2 : Blinds 200/300, 300 ante
Espen Jorstad
Espen Jorstad

Espen Jorstad was three ways on a J92 flop. The player in the small blind bet 1,300 and Jorstad raised to 5,200 from the big blind. The third player called cold from early position and the initial bettor folded.

Jorstad fired 11,000 into the middle on the 7 turn and his opponent again called.

The 2 completed the board and Jorstad wagered a hefty 39,000 — sending his opponent deep into the tank.

After several minutes, the clock was called by another player at the table. The floorman counted down and Jorstad's opponent's hand was declared dead.

Jorstad's opponent turned over KJ after the fact and said, "You have a lot of money, you don't care. That's what I was thinking," as last year's Main Event winner collected the pot.

Patterson Clobbers the Cobbler

Livello 2 : Blinds 200/300, 300 ante

Euan McNicholas opened to 700 pre-flop and Yannick Schumacher made the call on the button but then Eric Patterson three-bet to 3,600.

McNicholas folded his hand but Schumacher decided to stick around so he made the call to see a flop of 1084.

Patterson continued for 3,200 and Schumacher called again to see the 10 on the turn, which both players checked.

When the 4 came on the river to double-pair the board, Patterson tossed out a 5,000-chip and Schumacher went into the tank. After a while, he decided to make the call but was then shown JJ by Patterson and he hastily mucked his hand.

Split Pot Between Merlin And Chaitin

Livello 2 : Blinds 200/300, 300 ante

Natan Chaitin opened from middle position, and Pierre Merlin in the big blind was the only player to call to see 4JA.

Chaitin bet 500 on this flop, and Merlin raised to 1,600. Chaitin decided to three-bet to 4,500. And after a few seconds, Merlin called.

The turn was the 5, and Chaitin fired a second barrel of 5,000. Merlin check-called. However, the action slowed down on the river 5, as both players checked.

Chaitin revealed A4 for two pairs, which he first hit on the flop and then on the river. Merlin showed A7 for a missed flush draw, but he also had the same two pairs as Chaitin, resulting in a split pot.

Carleton joked, "I will take my hand back if you expose their cards too".

The turn brought the 8 and Maksimchuk made a bet of 1,500 and the player on the button made the call.

Both of the players checked the 4. Maksimchuk turned over Q10 for two pair and the button mucked.
