Graham Extends Chip Lead

Andrew Graham, Hang Zheng and one more player were on the turn on a board that read 8♥2♥8♣9♦. There was already a big pot of 27,000 brewing and the action checked to Graham on the button. He put in 16,500 more chips and Zheng made the call from early position.

The other player was on the cutoff and took a while to think before eventually the clock was called on him. Near the end of the countdown, he mucked his cards and the 7♥ river was dealt.

Graham and Zheng subsequently checked quickly, with Zheng opening his A♠A♦ first. His rockets were not good enough, however, when Graham tabled A♦8♦ for flopped trips.

Another big pot was sent Graham's way and he is playing nearly six starting stacks in the final hour of Day 1b.

On a heads-up completed board of A♥9♣8♠A♣8♥, Jean-Pierre Van Der Spuy, fired for 13,000 into the pot of roughly 25,000.

The action was then on his opponent, who went into the tank for a good while.

While he was doing so, Van Der Spuy was looking as relaxed as possible, taking a sip from his drink, adjusting his sunglasses, and even reached up for a big stretch. It was at this point that his opponent made the call, but was then shown 10♣10♠ from van der Spuy for two pair and his opponent quickly mucked.

Ribeiro Flops a Straight and Gets Action

Dimitar Danchev raised 1,300 in middle position and Anthony Ribeiro called on the button, followed by Robert Lofaso in the small blind, as well as the big blind.

The dealer fanned a flop of Q♠10♦9♦ and the action checked to Ribeiro who put out a bet of 4,000. Both Lofaso and Danchev called, while the big blind folded.

The 9♠ hit the turn and once checked to, Ribeiro fired another bet of 10,000. Lofaso wasted no time getting out of the way but Danchev took a bit longer before coming to the decision to call.

When the 7♣ completed the board, Danchev checked once again and Ribeiro pushed forward a bet of 12,000. Danchev went deep into thought for about a minute before making the call. Ribeiro tabled K♥J♠ for a flopped straight and Danchev mucked his hand.

The action was opened under the gun to 1,200. Next to act called, the cutoff called, and action was then on Yuze Ding on the button. Ding opted to three-bet to 8,000. The small blind folded but the big blind cold called and the rest of the players folded.

The players were heads up to a flop of 5♥2♦3♦ and the big blind check-called a 10,000 bet from Ding. The turn was a 7♠ and again action was checked to Ding. He put out a much larger bet of 25,000 this time and the big blind snap called.

The river brought a K♦ and now the action quickly checked through. Ding quickly tabled A♠A♥ and the big blind flashed black pocket tens before mucking.

Kim Back to Starting Stack After Being Short

Action caught up with a player in early position putting in a raise and getting three callers in the form of a player in late position, Max Steinberg in the small blind, and Brian Kim in the big blind.

The four players took a flop of Q♣5♣8♦ and Steinberg and Kim both checked to the original raiser, who bet 3,600.

The player in late position and Steinberg both folded and Kim made the call.

Now heads-up, this time Kim checked-called a bet of 4,700 on the turn 3♦, and both players checked the 5♥ river.

Kim showed down Q♦J♥ and his opponent folded 10♠10♣ face up.

Dinesh Alt raised to 1,300 from middle position and Henry Li defended his big blind once the action folded to him.

The flop of 7♥4♦9♠ saw Alt continuation-bet for 2,000 chips and Li check-called. The 10♥ turn then went check-check before the 8♠ river was dealt.

Li now led for an overbet of 10,000 chips. Alt mulled it over for several minutes, until he eventually called, albeit reluctantly.

Li showed J♦9♣ and his rivered straight won him the pot when Alt mucked his cards.

Numoto Jumps to the Top in Horseshoe Red

The flop came K♣8♥2♠ and the small blind led out with a bet of 6,900. Numoto raised to 15,000 and his opponent jammed all in for 21,900 which Numoto called.

Kenney Baden Digging In

Linda Kenney Baden raised to 1,500 from middle position and called Heidi Heimarck's 6,500 reraise.

The flop fell K♠8♠8♥. Kenney Baden pushed her remaining chips in the middle and while Heimarck was thinking she commented, "I have to get a hand once every six hours."

The speech was enough to convince Heimarck, who folded shortly after.

Meanwhile, on a nearby table, players reported a flopped straight flush for Sebastian Wuthold. Unfortunately for him, his river bet didn't get any takers.

Richards Backs into Broadway

The cutoff raised 1,500 and the button called before JR Richards three-bet to 6,300 in the small blind. Matthew Nowicki called in the big blind and both the cutoff and button got out of the way.

The dealer fanned a flop of J♣8♣8♥ and Richards continued for 9,500. Nowicki called.

The 10♥ landed on the turn and Richards checked, and Nowicki did the same.

When the K♥ completed the board, Richards paused for a moment and asked, "What you got young man?"

Nowicki stayed quiet with a puzzled look on his face as the action wasn't complete yet. Richards eventually dropped a green chip in the middle for a bet of 25,000 and Nowicki made the call.

Richards tabled A♣Q♦ for running Broadway and Nowicki looked sick as he held onto his cards for a few seconds and stared at the board. Nowicki showed his K♣10♣ before the dealer sent the pot Richards way.
