Fukuhara Doubles with Queens

Multiple raises went in before the flop and it was Kenta Fukuhara and Edward Pak battling for 12,500 in early positions.

The dealer fanned a flop of J♠8♣5♣ and Pak continued for 8,500. Fukuhara made the call.

The 2♥ fell on the turn and Pak slammed 70,000 across the line, putting maximum pressure on Fukuhara who had 33,600 remaining. After about 10 seconds, Fukuhara made the call and both hands were tabled.

Fukhara let out a sigh of relief as the hands were tabled and the dealer dropped the 3♠ on the river as Fukuhara collected the double.

Frank Gets Paid

Action is picked up on the river with Ashley Frank and her opponent looking at a board of 9♣K♥3♠4♥K♠.

Frank put out a healthy bet of 10,000 and her opponent went into the tank. Eventually he landed on a call and Frank quickly tabled 9♠9♥ for a set and rivered full house.

Frank would drag the pot to chip up late in Day 1.

Another Tough Spot For Baumann

According to her, Gaelle Baumann is having a rough time today, "running into the nuts every time." Unfortunately for her, it is not getting better, like when a player in the cutoff opened to 1,300. Baumann called in the big blind to see the flop 7♣Q♥J♠.

The cutoff continued to 2,000, then fired a second barrel of 4,000 on the turn 2♥. Both times, Baumann check-called.

But when the cutoff moved all in for 8,700 chips on the river 3♣, Baumann put her head into her hands, struggling to make a decision. She hesitated for a while and eventually folded, showing a Qx.

On the J♠9♦6♥ flop, all three players checked.

When the 5♦ hit the turn, the small blind checked and Petit put out a bet of 3,800. Only Van Driessche called.

The 4♣ completed the board and Petit fired a bet of 8,500, putting Van Driessche in the tank. After about a minute, Van Diessche pitched his cards into the muck and the dealer pushed the pot to Petit.

A player opened to 1,500 in middle position and was called by Johnny Chan in the hijack and Andy Tsai in the big blind.

The flop came J♥K♠2♥ and Tsai checked to the original raiser, who continued for 2,200. Chan then raised to 8,000 which got two prompt folds.

The ten-time bracelet winner and poker Hall of Famer has chipped up nicely throughout the day and currently sits with 170,000.

There was a raise to 1,200 in early position and three players called including Greg Raymer in the cutoff. The flop came 10♥4♦3♥ and the action checked to the cutoff who bet 1,300. Everyone called and the 3♣ paired the board on the turn.

The action checked around this time and the 8♥ landed on the river. It checked to Raymer again who was last to act and he splashed in a bet of 10,000. All of his opponents mucked their cards and Raymer collected the pot.

The flop fell 8♥3♣A♥ and was checked in both spots. On a 4♣ turn, Sadagopan bet 5,000 and received a call.

The river came the K♠. Sadagopan fired again, for 6,500 and was reraised to 15,000, putting him all in. Sadagopan committed the rest of his chips and his opponent tabled A♣J♦. Sadagopan swiftly revealed K♣K♦ for a rivered set and a timely double up.

Global Poker Summer Series IV Will Feature Four Main Events

Following a successful Grand Prix Turbo Series Montreal earlier this month, Global Poker announced that it will run the Summer Series IV right in time for all of the summer's poker action.

The Summer Series IV will take place June 26-July 9 and will feature several Gold and Sweeps Coins events. The series will have GC 630,000,000 in total prizes guaranteed and 28 Gold Coin trophies and SC 1,260,000 in total prizes guaranteed and 28 Sweeps Coin trophies.

The biggest draw of the series will be the GC and SC Main Events on July 9, which will feature respective guarantees of GC 630,000,000 and SC 1,260,000 across four events. The Prog Bounty, Super Deep Main Events will kicks things off before the regular Super Deep Main Events later in the evening.

D'Ambrosio Bounced by Quads

"Woah!" was the first thing heard from Table 671 and it was coming from Jimmy D'Ambrosio himself which could mean a lot of things may be happening. But it was bad news for the chatty D'Ambrosio who was standing up from the table.

After a couple of preflop raises between himself and Todd Hovenden, all of the chips got in the middle with D'Ambrosio holding Q♣Q♦ against the A♠A♦ of Hovenden. The flop came A♥A♣2♦ and Hovenden flopped quad aces to leave D'Ambrosio drawing dead.

"It was great playing with all of you," D'Ambrosio greeted all of his tablemates as he exited the tournament area after failing to spin his stack all the way up.
