Just after the redraw, Daniel Negreanu found himself in the big blind with only three blinds remaining. So he almost had no choice but to go all in anyway.
Before him, it was Stanley Tang who decided to shove for 1,600,000 chips from the cutoff. In the hijack, Gergely Kulcsár reraised all in for more than 4,000,000 chips. "The first card is nice," said Negreanu while filming when it was his turn to act. And the second one was very nice too, so he stood up and moved all in.
Daniel Negreanu: A♥A♣
Stanley Tang: A♦Q♣
Gergely Kulcsár: A♠K♣
Perfect timing for Negreanu, who found aces at the right moment. He was safe on 7♦8♥Q♦5♦K♠, but not Tang, as Kulcsár hit a pair on the river.
When Negreanu tripled up, Tang was eliminated in 16th place for $101,149.
Daniel Negreanu shoved in the small blind for about 1,700,000 and Cary Katz tabled his aces immediately.
"He didn't say call, kill that hand," joked Negreanu.
Cary Katz: A♦A♥
Daniel Negreanu: J♣8♣
The flop of A♠7♣4♣, gave Katz top set, but Negreanu still had life with a flush draw. The 7♠ fell on the turn, giving Katz a full house and the 6♦ completed the board on the river.
Nacho Barbero opened to 325,000 on the button and Jake Schindler defended the big blind.
The dealer fanned a flop of 10♥8♣6♠, and Schindler check-raised Barbero's bet of 250,000 all-in. Barbero had about 1,800,000 and called.
Nacho Barbero: 9♦9♥
Jake Schindler: K♦10♣
Schindler out-flopped Barbero with top pair and Barbero couldn't find one of the remaining nines in the deck as the board completed with the 6♦ turn and the 4♥ river.
Level 21 just ended, so the 17 players left in the WSOP $50,000 High Roller are on a 60-minute dinner break. Play will resume at approximately 9:27 p.m. local time.
Johannes Straver raised 240,000 in the cutoff and Moshe Refaelowitz came along in the big blind.
When the A♠5♦4♣ flop hit the felt, Refaelowitz check-raised the bet of 180,000 to 500,000. Straver called.
The 2♦ hit the turn, and Refaelowitz took some time before making a decision, tossing a time bank chip for an extra 30 seconds. Eventually, he pushed forward a bet of 850,000 and Straver mucked his hand.
Nacho Barbero had just run over and touched Jason Koon for good luck at a different table, and immediately sat down to raise 950,000 under the gun. The action folded around to Alex Kulev in the big blind and he made the call.
The dealer fanned a flop of K♠7♥5♠, and Kulev check-called Barbero's last 60,000.
Nacho Barbero: A♠Q♦
Alex Kulev: A♥J♥
Barbero's ace-high was slightly better than Kulev's and the board completed with the 5♥ on the turn and the 2♠ on the river.
"I instantly doubled up!" Barbero yelled to Koon, "I swear you are the most blessed guy alive. Legit."
