Abi-Zeid Makes "Good Laydown"

Livello 24 : Blinds 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante

Lawrence Wayne and George Abi-Zeid were heads up on a board showing KAK46 and a bet of 705,000 announced from Wayne.

Abi-Zeid counted out his remaining stack before making the fold. "Good laydown" said Wayne, as he added more chips to his stack.

With the recent eliminations of Warwick Mirzikinian, Danh Huynh, Tyler Gaston and Benjamin Juhasz the field was cut down to 18 with a redraw for the final three tables.

Livello 23 : Blinds 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante

Benjamin Juhasz raised to 80,000 from the button and got called by Demitrios Michailidis in the big blind to bring out the 3Q2 flop.

Michailidis led out with a bet of 75,000. Juhasz called to see the K hit the turn.

Action checked through to the 5 river.

Michailidis led out again, this time for 50,000. Juhasz thought briefly before putting out a raise to 250,000. Michailidis quickly called and turned over the KK42, causing Juhasz to toss his cards into the muck and the dealer to push the pot to Michailidis.

For many part-time players, the World Series of Poker (WSOP) is a chance to get away from work and spend some time in Las Vegas playing poker and chasing a bracelet.

One of those part-time bracelet hopefuls is venture capitalist and longtime poker player Chamath Palihapitiya, an early Facebook executive and the founder and CEO of the investment firm Social Capital. After more than a decade off of the WSOP felt, the billionaire returned to the World Series to take his shot at winning a bracelet in Event #29: $100,000 High Roller.

PokerNews caught up with Palihapitiya earlier in the series as he battled in a Day 1 field that included Chance Kornuth, Alex Foxen, Chris Brewer plenty more of the world's top high-roller players.

Shack-Harris KO's Kalas

Livello 23 : Blinds 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante
Kane Kalas
Kane Kalas

The action was four ways to the 9109 flop, with play checked around to Brandon Shack-Harris on the button.

Shack-Harris slid out a bet of 65,000, only to see Kane Kalas raise the pot for almost all of his remaining chips. Cuba Levenberry and Dimitrios Michailidis both got out of the way, leaving the decision on Shack-Harris.

A raise and call quickly followed, leaving Kalas at risk.

Kane Kalas: Q944
Brandon Shack-Harris: AJ94

Both players flopped trip nines, with Shack-Harris in front with an ace kicker. The 3 turn and K river changed nothing, sending Kalas to the payout table.
