One of the most heartwarming storylines of the 2023 World Series of Poker (WSOP) emerged yesterday as the father-daughter duo of Amanda Botfeld and David Botfeld made the money of the $10,000 WSOP Main Event World Championship.
Amanda Botfeld, a poker writer and author of 2020's A Girl's Guide to Poker, announced on Twitter that she and her dad had made it to the money in poker's most prestigious event. The tweet included a photo of the two locked in a loving embrace, no doubt happy to have secured a payday of at least $15,000.

David Botfeld was eliminated later on Day 4, while Amanda Botfeld is still alive on Day 5.
Players have gone on a thirty-minute break.
The floor will be coloring up and racing off the 100 chips.
Action caught up with Neil Custard in early position all-in against a player in late position, on a board that read 6♠K♠4♠.
Late Position Player: 8♦3♠
Neil Custard: A♠5♣
Custard wouldn't have to wait long to complete the flush, as the 9♠ fell on the turn, with the inconsequential 4♥ landing on the river, sending the late position player to the rail.

In a hand relayed to PokerNews by Little One for One Drop champ, Adrian Moreno, Moreno was involved in an all-in hand on the turn on a board reading JxJx6x5x.
Opponent: AxJx
Adrian Moreno: AxAx
Moreno would see the bad news once the cards were on their backs, needing the one remaining ace in the deck to win.
Fortunately for Moreno, the ace from space would fall on the river, giving Moreno the full house and the elimination.

Pittsburgh's Nicholas Rigby made a name for himself in the poker community in 2021 when he ran deep in the World Series of Poker (WSOP) Main Event by playing deuce-three offsuit at every given opportunity. Known as the "The Dirty Diaper" in his local games, Rigby kept his opponents guessing by bluffing, value betting and doing everything else in between with the less-than-premium holding.
Two years later, Rigby again finds himself making a deep run in poker's most prestigious event. And for those wondering, he hasn't forgotten about The Dirty Diaper, a hand he used to build up a Day 1d chip lead that further grew on Day 2d to see him bag the second biggest stack in the room.
PokerNews caught up with Rigby on Day 3 to talk about his tried-and-true loose-aggressive strategy in the WSOP Main Event. Heading into Day 5, Rigby finds himself with a stack of 3,655,000 near the top of the chip counts.
