Nick Yezzo raised to 500 on the button and was called by both blinds.
Yezzo continued for 700 on the well-connected 9♥J♥10♥ flop and was raised to 2,000 by the player in the big blind, with the player in the small blind getting out of the way and Yezzo making the call.
The board became even more interesting on the Q♥ turn, prompting both players to check.
The player in the big blind check-folded to a river bet of 3,000 from Yezzo on the K♦ river and Yezzo tabled the K♥10♣ to show the straight flush.

Players surviving today will advance to Day 2 on Thursday, July 13th to find themselves one step closer to the coveted WSOP bracelet.
Just like the temperature in Las Vegas, the player of the year race is heating up, meaning we could see the likes of such players as Shaun Deeb, who currently sits third on the list, and Chad Eveslage and Jeremy Ausmus, both in the top ten, in the field with the hopes of deep runs in order to increase their positions in the race.

Players taking their seats will receive 60,000 starting chips, this being the Ultra Stack, and all, and will endure 22 30-minute levels with a 20-minute break after every four levels of play. Blinds will start at 100/200 with a 200 big blind ante and late registration closes after Level 12 (approx. 5 p.m.).
