Farha Chops with Kerbel

Livello 17 : 15,000/30,000, 0 ante
Sam Farha
Sam Farha

Action folded around to Sam Farha on the button who made it two bets to go and was called by Jay Kerbel in the big blind.

The dealer spread the 1026 flop and Kerbel check-called a bet from Farha. The J turn checked through, as did the 4 river.

Farha showed AK72 for an emergency low and Kerbel tabled JK75 for top pair jacks.

Livello 16 : Limits 12,000/24,000, 0 ante

Upon completion of level 16, the final 33 players are on their last 10-minute break of the day during which the T-1,000 chips are raced off. One more level will be played for the night and the money bubble still hasn't burst.

Chow Very Short; Yockey Scoops Chait

Livello 16 : Limits 12,000/24,000, 0 ante

Craig Chait raised in the cutoff and Michael Chow called on the button, as did Bryce Yockey in the big blind. The trio checked the K82 flop and Chait then bet the Q turn when checked to by Yockey, which sent Chow deep into the tank.

Chow sigh-folded after long deliberation and Yockey called as they headed to the K on the river. Yockey's bet was called by Chait, who could not beat the AA75 of Yockey. "I had queen-deuce ... ace, queen, deuce," Chow mentioned in the table chat.

The Bubble Continues Without an All-In

Livello 16 : Limits 12,000/24,000, 0 ante

In four-way action to the KJ10Q turn, the action checked to Bryce Yockey, and he bet to force folds.

One table over, three-way action came around to the J4296 river, and James Chen saw his stack reduced, as James Obst earned three quarters with the A963 for nines and sixes on top of his nut low. Yarron Bendor only chopped the low with the AQ43, and that pulled Chen into the danger zone on the stone-cold money bubble.

Ben Lamb bet the Q96 flop when checked to by James Chen (US), and they headed to the 2 on the turn. Chen now check-raised for Lamb to call before leading the K on the river. Lamb raised and received a call to turn over his KJ108 for the nut straight to earn the entire pot.

Chanthabouasy Gets Short; Ray Gets Three Quarters

Livello 16 : Limits 12,000/24,000, 0 ante

John Hennigan bet the turn and river of a 85397 board when checked to, and Damjan Radanov called. Steve Chanthabouasy was also involved in the action as well and tanked for a long time on the river before he came along.

Hennigan tabled the 7633 for a straight to win the high pot, while Radanov won the low with the A1092 as Chanthabouasy mucked to get very short once more.

In the meanwhile, Kyle Ray earned three quarters against Johannes Becker with a check-call on the 6227Q river. Ray tabled the A752 for a full house to win the high and half the low, as Becker only had A952.

River Raise Puts Chait in Tough Spot

The action picked up on the turn in a hand between Craig Chait and Pascal Leyo. The board read K3J, and Leyo called a bet from Chait.

Chait bet out on the Q river and was subsequently raised by Leyo. This put Chait in the tank, as he announced he held a very "key card." Leyo offered him the opportunity to pick two cards to see from his hand if he folded, but Chait wanted to see all four and made the call.

Leyo tabled AA210 for an ace-high straight, and Chait mucked, revealing he had ten nine for a king-high straight.

Chen Wins Urgently Needed Pot

Livello 16 : Limits 12,000/24,000, 0 ante

On the impending bubble, James Chen (Taiwan) picked up a pot in four-way action while fellow namesake and US citizen James Chen leaped into the lead. The same table also featured a full scoop for James Obst with AA84 on the A7210Q board with the nut flush and eight-low against Jason Daly.

Chen then bet the four-way flop of 844 flop while on the button with Chen in the small blind check-calling, Ben Lamb check-folded in the big blind and Daly stuck around as well. The three-way turn of 3 was checked to the button and his bet then earned two folds.
