Hochman, Barbero and Shak all Eliminated

Livello 17 : Limits 15,000/30,000, 0 ante

Corey Hochman, Nacho Barbero, and Dan Shak, all short stacks, were the victims of a flurry of eliminations after the money bubble burst. That has reduced the field to the last 23 hopefuls, who will be redrawing to the final three tables and finish the remainder of the level.

A Lot of Chops; One Scoop and One Bustout

Livello 17 : Limits 15,000/30,000, 0 ante

With several players on fumes below two big bets, it was Dan Shak who got scooped over on table 144 when his aces were cracked by two pair and a low. The same table saw Christopher Stephan misread his cards as he declared queens up on the Q927A river when he checked last to act.

Kyle Ray announced aces up for Stephan to table his cards and show the Q977. He then profusely apologised as he noticed the set of sevens and raked in the entire pot against Ray and Jay Kerbel.

In the meanwhile, Craig Chait saw his stack reduced to a mere 20,000 and he then chopped in a three-way pot with Bryce Yockey and Pascal Leyo.

All-in again shortly after for a severe short stack, Chait got looked up by Kyle Cartwright and Yockey. They checked down to the 97253 river and Cartwright showed his AQ43 for a wheel. The 10942 of Chait was no good and the AK85 of Yockey earned no portion either.

Seidel Scoops; Zappulla Next to Fall

Livello 17 : Limits 15,000/30,000, 0 ante
Paul Zappulla
Paul Zappulla

With several players holding severe short stacks, James Obst and Bryce Yockey chipped up with the former earning a full scoop.

Erik Seidel also won a decent pot off John Hennigan when his AJ54 rivered the nuts on the KQ459 board to get one more bet from Hennigan.

The same table then saw the all-in of Paul Zappulla for one full bet only from the cutoff, earning calls from Alan Sternberg and Brad Ruben out of the blinds. Both active players checked to the KJ2AK river on which Sternberg check-folded to Ruben's bet.

In showdown, Ruben revealed the K987 for trips kings and Zappulla was eliminated with the AQ53.

James Chen (Taiwan) was all-in from the button after a late position raise by Yarron Bendor and James Chen (US) would also call from the small blind, creating a side pot between Chen (US) and Bendor.

The flop rolled out 355. Chen (US) lead out and was called by Bendor. The turn2 checked through and Chen (US) would put out a bet on the 7 river, which was called by Bendor.

James Chen (Taiwan): 9887
James Chen (US): JJ108
Yarron Bendor: AQ106

Chen (US) won the high with two pair jacks and fives and Bendor won the low with a seventy-six, eliminating Chen in 30th place.

Berilgen Eliminated by Yockey

Jason Berilgen

Bryce Yockey bet the turn and river of the KK82J board and a seemingly confused Jason Berilgen called it down for the last of his chips. Yockey tabled his AJ54 and Berilgen bemoaned "I didn't even see the diamonds ... wait, you don't have a flush?!"

Berilgen then tabled his AQ84 for inferior two pair and a missed low draw to become the second casualty in the money.

"I was in good shape then," he said on his way to the payout desk.

Dzivielevski Eliminated by Becker

Yuri Dzivielevski
Yuri Dzivielevski

A cat with many lives on his severe short stack, Yuri Dzivielevski eventually got it in again when facing Johannes Becker as he check-called the 843 flop and then checked the Q turn. Becker bet, and Dzivielevski had two T-25,000 chips behind, which he tossed into the middle.

There was some confusion about whether that was a call for a full bet of 30,000 or an all-in, to which Becker responded "I am fine with either way". Dzivielevski replied, "I want to go all-in," and so he did, creating the following showdown.

Yuri Dzivielevski: K753
Johannes Becker: K852

The A on the river gave Becker the wheel, and Dzivielevski was knocked out in 32nd place.

Chow Chops; Then Busts on the Bubble

Livello 17 : Limits 15,000/30,000, 0 ante
Michael Chow
Michael Chow

Michael Chow was all-in twice and survived the first hand to chip up slightly thanks to a chop while Yuri Dzivielevski was also on the verge of getting eliminated but escaped.

On a flop of J43, the Brazilian was all-in for 65,000 total and looked up by Corey Hochman.

Yuri Dzivielevski: AKQ2
Corey Hochman: AJ102

The K turn propelled Dzivielevski into the lead but the 5 river gave both a wheel for the full chop.

Chow then limped in and the action continued to a three-way flop of Q74 on which Kyle Cartwright checked, as did Craig Chait. Chow bet and received two calls.

Cartwright bet the 10 turn and Chait folded while Chow called all-in for the last 25,000 chips he had behind.

Michael Chow: AJ63
Kyle Cartwright: AK53

Chow was drawing to a low but on very thin ice against the flush of Cartwright. No low came as the 10 river burst the money bubble.
