Taylor Doubles Through Engel

Livello 8

Pot-Limit 2-7 Triple Draw

Short stack Thomas Taylor raised the pot and Ari Engel called out of the big blind. On the first draw, Engel took two and Taylor took one as the former then bet the pot and Taylor called all-in.

Both discarded one on the second draw and Taylor then patted the final draw, whereas Engel took one.

Taylor showed his 10x6x5x4x2x while Engel had a "bad nine" with the 9x8x6x2x. He peeled a king and Taylor doubled or 6,400.

Ruben Eliminated by Rotholz

Livello 8

Badugi

On the final draw, Brad Ruben and David Williams discarded one while Hal Rotholz patted. Ruben was all-in already and failed to catch any help with the final draw as Williams also bricked what appeared to be an 4x2xAx three card Badugi.

Rotholz showed his 10932 and that won the pot, sending Ruben to the rail. After the hand was over, Rotholz mentioned he had patted all the way with the made ten-Dugi.

Small Pot Without Showdown for Madsen

Livello 8

Stud Hi-Lo Regular

Sampo Ryynanen: XxXx / 569 folded on fifth street
Jeff Madsen: XxXx / 534

With two low boards starting on fourth, Jeff Madsen bet the advantage and was called by Sampo Ryynanen. That led them to fifth street on which Madsen further improved. He bet and Ryynanen double-checked his cards, shook the head and folded with the words "I had a good hand".

The table no longer features Nozomu Shimizu while Andrew Brown has chipped up as of lately.

Vengrin Doubles Through Rast

Livello 8
Matt Vengrin
Matt Vengrin

Pot-Limit 2-7 Triple Draw

Brian Rast raised to 2,500 in the hijack and got a call from Matt Vengrin in the big blind. Vengrin drew one card while Rast needed two.

The players checked and then each drew one on the second draw. Vengrin checked again and faced a bet of 5,000 from Rast.

Vengrin check-raised to 13,000 and after a bit of thought, Rast made the call.

Vengrin still needed to draw one, while Rast patted his hand.

After methodically shuffling his cards and contemplating his next move, Vengrin gathered his 30,200 chips and moved all in.

Rast didn't love it, but decided that his hand was too good to fold and put forward a call.

"Wheel," declared Vengrin as he indeed spread 7x5x4x3x2x on the table for a wheel, a.k.a. number one, a.k.a. a double up in that spot any day of the week.

Gnanasambanthan Misses Some Value

Livello 8

Stud 8 or Better

Ajay Gnanasambanthan: 562 / 987Xx
Hisashi Yamanouchi: 66AK4Q8

Both boards were already meshed to represent the strength and as the dealer was about to prepare a split pot, Ajay Gnanasambanthan suddenly noticed "wait, I have a straight?" to go with his superior low. He then added "damn, I missed value" before the rather small pot was sent to him.

Yamanouchi was left with the same shorter stack he had for quite a while and he has a mountain to climb to make a deep run in this event.
