Zinno Chips Up Against Valeo

Livello 10

Badeucey

Matthew Valeo check-called a bet by Anthony Zinno and both discarded one each on the final draw. They checked and Zinno showed his 7 / 10542 for a ten-ten to win the pot. A late addition to the Day 1a field, Zinno has already doubled his stack while Valeo dropped back to the starting stack.

David "Bakes" Baker chipped up even further in an equally short period to rapidly climb on the leaderboard.

Hennigan Over 300,000 With Elimination of Katzoff

Livello 10
Nathaniel Katzoff

Pot-Limit Omaha 8 or Better

PokerNews arrived at John Hennigan and Nathaniel Katzoff's table to see Katzoff's 50,000 remaining chips in the middle from the hijack at risk against the man known as "Johnny World" under the gun. The flop showed 2J3.

Nathaniel Katzoff: A952
John Hennigan: QJJ7

Hennigan held top set, but he would have to fade flush and wheel draws along with any low.

The board completed KQ and the six-time bracelet winner indeed held to eliminate his chatty opponent t and vault to possibly the largest stack in the room.

Late Entries and Bustouts

Livello 10

Big O

Robert Mizrachi had been a short stack not long ago but simply added a zero to his count to climb up the leaderboard in rapid fashion. "It is crazy how fast it goes," Zachary Freeman nodded and Mizrachi then mentioned that he was "never going to fold" in a previous hand that likely saw him score a double through Tamon Nakamura.

He then also dispatched Noah Bronstein when he flopped broadway on KQJ8x3 to reduce the field by one. George Alexander was also among those to bust, Keith Lehr and Elior Sion entered in the late stages.

Small Three-Way Pot to Matusow

Livello 10

Pot-Limit Omaha

On a three-way flop of K32, Mike Matusow checked and Ajay Gnanasambanthan bet 6,000 to force out Daniel Negreanu. Matusow called and both then checked down the 3 turn and Q river, Matusow announced a king and showed his K1098, which earned an urgently needed pot.

Mzrachi Left on a Nub

Livello 9

Omaha 8 or Better

On a board of 109327, Robert Mizrachi called down bets by Zachary Freeman and then mucked when he was shown the AJ82 for a jack-high straight and low by his opponent.

Big O

Freeman picked the next game and Noah Bronstein won the blinds with a raise. Tamon Nakamura then raised the button to 3,500 in the next hand for Mizrachi and Carol Fuchs to call out of the blinds. The trio checked the 976 flop and the 2 fell on the turn. Mizrachi bet 11,500 with 5,000 behind and two calls led to the 8 river.

Mizrachi now moved all-in, earning a reluctant call from Fuchs and Nakamura.

Nakamura won the high portion with AK1077 for a straight, while Mizrachi's AQ844 chopped the low with Fuchs' AQQ84.

Doug Polk built his poker reputation on heads-up play. It’s where he’s most comfortable, staring at a single opponent directly across the table. And tomorrow, when the Final Four of Event #8: $25,000 Heads Up No-Limit Hold’em Championship begins at 4 p.m. local time, he can capture the one thing missing from his resume, the WSOP Heads Up bracelet.

Polk headlines the four remaining players who will gather on the main feature stage inside the Horseshoe and Paris Las Vegas. He’ll be joined by Sean Winter, Chris Brewer, and Chanracy Khun, three opponents who have navigated through the grind of four heads-up matches to reach this stage.

Sternheimer Knocked Out by Bohlman

Livello 9
Philip Sternheimer
Philip Sternheimer

Pot-Limit 2-7 Triple Draw

Philip Sternheimer had been nursing a short stack for an extended period while Scott Bohlman consistently added chips on the same table. They got it in preflop with Sternheimer at risk for what appeared to be around 16,000.

On the first draw, Sternheimer discarded two versus one while then discarding two on the remaining two draws, which were patted by Bohlman.

In showdown, Bohlman revealed 9x7x5x3x2x and Sternheimer peeled his cards twice, shook the head and tossed the cards into the muck.
