Bifarella Out with Queens

Diogo Coelho raised from under the gun with A♠A♦ and Samuel Bifarella's three-bet to 335,000 with Q♠Q♦ from the cutoff. Coelho four-bet to 665,000 and Bifarella five-bet to 1,635,000. Coelho raised all in and Bifarella called for his entire stack.

The A♣J♠4♣ brought an Ace for Coelho and Bifarella needed a runner-runner to save him.

The turn came the 10♠ which gave Bifarella a straight draw but the 8♠ didn't bring in the king out to save him.

Zevola Sucks Out on Garcia to Survive

Marco Zevola raised to 450,000 from under the gun, and left just 50,000 chips behind in his stack. Santiago Trujillo then three-bet to 850,000, and Adrian Garcia shoved for over 8,000,000 from the blinds. Zevola put in his last 50,000, and Trujillo went deep into the tank before eventually folding.

Zevola was a huge underdog but flopped a set on the 10♠5♥J♥4♠2♠ board which kept his Main Event dream alive as Day 5 edges to its culmination. Garica on the other hand, didn't lose too many chips as he took the small side pot of 350,000 which kept his stack above the eight-million mark.

Song Sends Adomkevicius Into The Tank

Aneris Adomkevicius opened to 120,000 from a middle position with J♦J♣. Stephen Song three-bet to 375,000 having picked up A♥A♦ in the small blind.

The flop came 7♦5♣10♥ and Song bet to 375,000, which Adomkevicius called.

The 4♠ came on the turn and Song, still ahead, opted to check. Adomkevicius bet 275,000 which was met with a raise from Song to 675,000. Adomkevicius took some time but found a call, taking the players to the river.

The 7♥ completed the board and the action was on Song. He raised to 1,200,000, putting Adomkevicius all in. After a long tank, the clock was called and Adomkevicius was given 30 seconds to act before his cards were automatically mucked.

Adomkevicius eventually made the call with just seconds left on the clock. Song showed his aces, which eliminated Adomkevicius from main event just 10-minutes before the end of Day 5.

Portaleoni Takes it with a Bet

Ren Lin opened to 125,000 from early position and was called by Rodrigo Garrido Portaleoni on the button.

Lin continued for 100,000 on the A♦5♠8♣ flop but was unable to shake off Portaleoni.

The 3♥ turn saw Lin slow dow, checking to Portaleonin, who took the opportunity to bet 125,000. That was enough to convince Lin to give up on the hand as Portaleoni added a few chips to his stack late in the night.

Vela complied, as the duo went to the K♦9♠3♦ flop. Bryant continued for 150,000 and then called when Vela made it 380,000.

The 3♠ turn checked through to the J♥ river, where Bryant bet 200,000. Vela moved all in for 2,025,000 and folded out Bryant.

Hawkins slid his hand into the muck and said, "Nice hand," as the pot was shipped Lopez's way.

Zakarian Leaves Zannette Stunned

Veerab Zakarian raised from under the gun and was called by Toby Gibson on the button and Giovanni Zanette in the big blind. The 9♦4♠2♥ flop was checked by Zanette and Zakarian bet 125,000. Gibson then min-raised to 250,000 for Zanette to call only for Zakarian to then raise it up to 700,000.

Gibson tank-folded and Zanette called after some consideration.

After the 5♣ turn, Zanette check-called for another 650,000 and the K♦ river was then checked behind by Zakarian.

Zanette tabled the 5♠3♥ for a flopped open-ended straight draw and turned pair of fives. Zakarian revealed K♣Q♠ for a bluff on flop and turn that had gotten there, and when the cards were shown, Zanette was left stunned and flustered as he sent his own cards with force into the muck.

Van Rooij Wins the Main, Pak the Side in Massive Confrontation

Picking up the action partway through the hand, Merijn van Rooij in middle position had committed his short stack to the pot and was at risk against Edward Pak on the button and Valentin Oberhauser in the big blind. Oberhauser had both of his opponents covered with over 7,000,000 chips in the pot preflop.

Pak was in a great spot to more than double but was forced to settle for the side pot after the board ran out 8♦A♦6♦5♥4♠ to give van Rooij a flush. Still, Pak profited significantly from the hand while Oberhauser ended up losing more than half of his stack. van Rooij, meanwhile, seemed elated, having found an unlikely triple up.
