A player in late position jammed all in for around 40,000 and Daniel Favreau called from the small blind for 30,000. Both players revealed their hands.
Daniel Favreau: 10♠10♣
Late Position Player: K♦J♦
The board ran out 3♠10♦6♥K♣Q♠ for Favreau to find the double.
Terry Fleischer and Ronald Waxberg got all their chips in before the flop. Waxberg had opened form under the gun, Fleischer three-bet from the small blind and Waxberg went all in for about 175,000 chips. Fleischer called.
Ronald Waxberg: A♦K♣
Terry Fleischer: J♦J♣
The flop was one for Waxberg, he hit top pair on A♠8♥9♦. The turn 6♠ and 9♠ did not improve Fleischer and the pot went to his opponent.
Colin Morris-Denby was in the big blind and faced a raise from a late position player to 15,000 and made the call. The flop came out as 6♣7♣8♣ and Morris-Denby checked and the late position player moved in for his last 25,000 chips. Morris-Denby made the call.
Late Position Player: A♥K♠
Colin Morris-Denby: J♦4♦
The turn was the J♠ and the river was the 3♣ and Morris-Denby all the way from New Zealand won a nice pot with his pair of jacks.
Richard Turner raised from late position to 15,000 and the player in the cutoff and the big blind both called. The flop came out as 9♠7♥7♣ and Turner placed the continuation bet of 20,000 and both players called but this placed the big blind all in for 10,000.
Both players checked the dry side pot on the turn 4♠.
On the river 2♥ Turner bet 20,000 to have the cutoff fold.
The big blind was allowed to leave with dignity and mucked his cards after Turner showed A♠10♥ for the ace high win.
Sammy Farha and Dan Harrington had been sitting at the same table for most of the day, which meant that a clash between the two legends of poker was bound to happen at some point. However, it would have been ambitious to predict that a massive pot between them would ultimately see one sending the other to the rail.
According to the players, Dan Harrington three-bet preflop from the small blind, which Farha called from middle position.
The flop came 9♠A♥10♥. Harrington continued for 35,000 and Farha called.
The 8♣ was dealt out on the turn. Harrington declared all in and Sammy asked for a count. It was settled that it was 72,000. Sammy made a comment about not being able to lay down the hand. “Oh, that sounds like a good hand,” said Harrington, apparently reading Farha as stronger as his delayed decision might suggest.
Farha then made the call.
Dan Harrington: A♣K♦
Sammy Farha: 9♥9♣
There were many gasps at the table upon seeing the players’ cards. Apparently, Sammy had taken another pot from Harrington with a set of nines just a bit earlier.
Harrington was drawing dead on the turn; the dealer dealt out the 10♦, giving Farha the boat and sending Harrington to the rail.
Yucel Eminoglu was in early position with a limper under the gun and he put in a raise to 28,000. The player in the hijack three-bet all in for about 90,000, the limper folded and Eminoglu called and showed the hijack player the bad news.
Hijack: K♦K♣
Yucel Eminoglu: A♥A♦
The board ran out with 4♦2♣6♦8♥5♥ and the aces prevailed and Eminoglu amassed a huge stack.
