Borison Just Doesn’t Believe Salta

Livello 10 : Blinds 800/1,600, 1,600 ante

According to the players, Adrian Salta opened preflop from the button and Dan Borison defended the big blind.

The flop was 432. Borison check-raised Salta’s flop continuation bet, and Salta called.

The turn was the 3. Borison checked and called Salta’s 8,000-chip bet.

The river was the 4. After Borison checked, Salta grabbed a big stack of yellow 1,000 chips, 17 to be exact, and pushed them to the middle. Borison very quickly called. Salta turned over 94 for the rivered full house and Borison mucked his hand. In line with the cheerful mood at the table, Borison noted: “I just didn’t believe you!” “Clearly!” replied Salta. Borison added that he had called him down with an ace.

Breaking the Kings Curse

Livello 10 : Blinds 800/1,600, 1,600 ante

The table was excited to retell the story of how Orville Schlosser had lost with pocket kings to pocket aces three times and he still had a decent stack.
During this conversation a hand unfolded with action on the flop of 1027 and a built pot of about 25,000. The player in the big blind made a bet of 75,000 and Chris Barbeisch was in the cutoff and moved all in for 93,000. The big blind was pot committed and called.

Big blind: QQ

The turn came with the 10 and the river came with the 9 and kings held. The table could not help themselves to tease Schlosser and someone said, "Now that is how you play kings", which elicited laughter.

Heath’s Big Raise Gets a Customer

Livello 10 : Blinds 800/1,600, 1,600 ante

Six players saw the flop of 9A2. After both blinds checked, the player under the gun bet 3,000. The bet got called by the player in early position, while the player in middle position folded. Action was then on Greg Heath on the button, who made it 15,000. Both blinds folded, as did the player under the gun.

The last player left in the hand was the early position and after some thought, he decided to go all in for a few thousand more. Heath said he was worried about a set but called.

Early position: A7All in
Greg Heath: A9

The turn and river came the K and 7 respectively and while Heath’s opponent also made two pair by the river, Heath’s aces and nines took down the pot.

All three players checked after the 68A flop.

On the turn was the 7 and Kang bet 4,000. She was called by player in early position, and the player in middle position folded.

Saegert’s River Bet Gets It Done

Livello 10 : Blinds 800/1,600, 1,600 ante

Larry Saegert is doing well approaching the end of Day 1, having just taken down a pot of a bit over 30,000 chips.

Saegert opened the action with a raise to 3,200 from the hijack and both players in the blinds called.

The flop came J108. The player in the small blind decided to lead for 3,200. Big blind folded and Saegert called.

The turn was the 10. Small blind slowed down and checked. Saegert bet 8,000, got the call and the two players went to the river.

The 4 rolled off. After small blind checked, Saegert bet again, this time for 10,000. Small blind released the hand and Saegert took down the pot.

Saegert told PokerNews that he had A10 for turned trips, while the player in the small blind said he had KxQx for the busted open-ended straight draw.

'Nine Lives Sammy' Stays Alive

Sam Farha
Sam Farha

Action was picked up on the flop with three players in the pot on a board showing 35A. A player in the small blind bet 6,000, before Sammy Farha raised all in for 49,000 from middle position. The player in the hijack made the call, and the small blind folded.

Sammy Farha: K10 All in
Hijack: AQ

Farha was behind the pair of aces of his opponent but could hit a heart for a flush. When the board ran out J on the turn and the 2 on the river, Farha did just that and made a king high flush, to double up and stay in the tournament.
