Christina Gollins moved all in for 455,000 on the button, Yuzhou Yin shoved in the small blind, and Aram Zobian gave up his big blind.
Christina Gollins: A♠8♣
Yuzhou Yin: K♦Q♥
Both players hit a pair on the A♥K♠9♣ flop, but Gollins remained in the lead with her aces. The turn was the A♣ and Gollins improved to trips to leave Yin drawing dead.
The Q♠ on the river arrived too late for Yin, and he handed over a double up.
In the first and bigger pot between the players, Jonathan Pastore min-raised from middle position. Yuzhou Yin was in the big blind and defended.
The 8♠9♠10♥ flop was checked around.
The turn was the 4♦, and Yin led out for 120,000. Pastore called.
The river was the 9♦. Yin took a fairly long time to think and then fired 480,000 for slightly over the pot. Pastore took some time before calling. He quickly saw the bad news as Yin turned over the Q♠J♠ for a flopped straight.
The two players played again on the very next hand. Pastore opened from under the gun, and Yin called in the small blind.
The flop was 4♣A♠2♣. Yin checked to Pastore, who made a small continuation bet of 60,000, and Yin called.
The turn 2♦ and river 4♥ were checked by both players. Yin flipped over 9♣9♦, which Pastore could beat with K♠K♦, winning some of his chips back.
Brandon Cantu opened the cutoff to 80,000, and Chris Hunichen three-bet from the button to 225,000. The action folded back to Cantu, who shoved all in for around 900,000, and Hunichen quickly called.
Brandon Cantu: 10♠10♣
Chris Hunichen: Q♣Q♠
Cantu's situation went from bad to worse as Hunichen flopped a set on the Q♦9♣2♥ board. No runner-runner arrived for Cantu as neither the 6♥ turn nor the 7♦ river offered any help.
Chris Hunichen opened from under the gun to 80,000, and David Coleman three-bet to 260,000 from the button. When the action got back to Hunichen, he shoved all in for around 1,900,000 effective, and Coleman quickly folded.
Nenad Dukic raised to 85,000 under the gun, and Terry Fleischer called in middle position. Michael Acevedo then three-bet to 435,000 in the big blind and Dukic snap-folded.
Fleischer, though, moved all in for 2,085,000. "You're probably the only player that would get me to think with the hand I have," Acevedo told Fleischer as he stood up and leaned over the table.
"This guy's won more Venetians than you've played tournaments," Chris Hunichen added. Acevedo eventually called, creating a massive pot with more than 4,000,000 in the middle.
Terry Fleischer: 10♦10♠
Michael Acevedo: A♦K♦
"You guys are so sick," Hunichen said when the cards were revealed. The flop came 2♦7♥Q♠, and Acevedo began calling for another diamond, but he didn't get his wish on the 9♠ turn.
The river was the 5♠, and Fleischer held on to earn the double up into the tournament chip lead.
"How do you just jam with tens there?" Acevedo wondered.
"Have you met this guy?" Christina Gollins replied from the other table.
"I should've used my one time," Acevedo added as he put back on his hoodie and headphones and sat back down to a much-reduced stack.
