Gurevich Gets Value From Glantz

Livello 1 : Blinds 100/200, 200 ante

Matt Glantz raised to 600 from middle position and was three-bet to 2,000 by Gaston Gurevich on the button. Action folded back to Glantz, who called.

Glantz check-called a 2,000 bet from Gurevich on the 824 flop and then both players checked on the 8 turn.

Glantz checked once more when the 3 completed the board, prompting a 6,000 bet from Gurevich. Glantz looked him up and Gurevich tabled 1010, which got a muck from Glantz.

Jamasi Gets Redemption

Livello 1 : Blinds 100/200, 200 ante

The first hand PokerNews walked up on at Isaac Haxton's table involved a large pot with over 32,000 in the middle on a heads-up river of 103KK7. Claudia Crawford-Stein checked to her opponent, Farhad Jamasi, who checked back.

"I got nothing," Crawford-Stein admitted as she tabled A8 for ace-high.

"Yeah that's good," Jamasi replied as he showed QJ for a missed straight draw and Crawford-Stein was shipped the pot.

When asked how the pot got so large, she said that Haxton had opened, Jamasi three-bet, then she four-bet and Jamasi called. Then she check-raised the flop and then action checked through the river.

Then the very next hand, the following happened:

After an open and a call multi-way, five players went to a flop of 3108. The early position player led out for 2,200 and everyone made the call to see the 9 on the turn. The action then checked through to Jamasi in late position who then bet out 10,500. The early position player called while two players got out of the way, but then Peter Placey raised it up to 25,000 and the action was back on Jamasi.

Jamasi moved all in for a total of 42,900 and the early position tanked for a good while before he made the fold. Placey went into the tank himself to ponder the 17,900 raise he was facing. After a minute or so, he also decided to make the lay-down, at which point Jamasi showed the nuts with QJ, true redemption for the previous hand.

D'Ambrosio Shows Heart

Livello 1 : Blinds 100/200, 200 ante

When the action was caught there were four hearts on the board of 4QKJ. Jimmy "D" D'Ambrosio made a bet of 6,000 from under the gun in a pot with around 7,500 chips in it.

His opponent was in middle position and thought it over while D'Ambrosio engaged in some table talk. Eventually, his opponent folded, prompting D'Ambrosio to show his 6.

"I had eight outs," his opponent claimed.

"A value bet with a six-high flush," D'Ambrosio proudly exclaimed.

Dietrich Fast has been active in the early going, collecting quite a few chips in the first level of the day. He was back at it again with a completed board of 109238 and around 15,000 in the middle.

The cutoff led out with a bet of 5,600 and Fast raised to 30,600 on the button. His opponent thought for a minute before flicking in a call. Fast flipped over AJ for the nut flush and his opponent showed QJ for only a straight.

Demarco Snaps an Early Photo

Livello 1 : Blinds 100/200, 200 ante

Martin Kabrhel raised it up to 1,200 from the cutoff, with the minimum raise being 1,000 according to his rules. Michael Demarco called from the big blind which got Kabrhel excited.

"I only want your chips, Michael," Kabrhel rambled. "You took my t-shirt and you don't even wear it."

The flop came 833 and both players checked to the Q on the turn. Demarco led out with a bet of 3,000 and Kabrhel stuck around for the J on the river. Demarco fired out another bet of 7,000 and Kabrhel quickly called. Demarco turned over 32 for trip threes and Kabrhel couldn't beat it.

"Smile for me, Martin," Demarco said as he snapped a photo of his winning hand with Kabrhel in the background.
