The players enter their third 15-minute break of Day 1’s session.
The intermission also marks the end of the late registration and rebuy period for players.
Action folded around to five-time bracelet winner Adam Friedman in the cutoff who raised. The button called and they saw a flop of 4♣8♥10♣.
Friedman led with a bet and the button player called to see a K♦ on the turn. Friendman bet once again and his opponent called leading to a 5♠ on the river.
Friedman bet a third time, sending his opponent into the tank. After about a minute, the button player tossed in a call only to see Friedman turn over the K♥K♣, good for top set. His opponent mucked and the dealer pushed the pot to Friedman as he said, "They need to know I only play the nuts!"

On a flop of 6♦7♥2♦ with 10,000 already in the pot, action checked around to Kyle Dilschneider who put in a bet, prompting two folds and a call before the dealer burned and turned the 2♣.
The player first to act decided to lead with a bet this time around but was quickly met with a raise from Dilschneider. His opponent put the call in and they were off to a 4♠.
The player first to act check-called one more bet from Dilschneider who turned over the 7♣7♠ for the nut full house and with that, Dilschneider dragged another pot right as his online WSOP bracelet event came out of break.

The start of Level 9 saw Joe Nalbandyan involved in a pot that quickly grew after the flop.
After players in early position folded, a player to Nalbandyan’s immediate right open-raised in middle position. Nalbandyan, who was in the hijack position, flatted and the remaining players, including the two blinds, folded.
The dealer placed 9♠10♥K♠ on the flop, which led to the original raiser to check. Nalbandyan made a bet and his out-of-position opponent quickly called. The turn produced 5♣, which saw identical action from the flop with a check, bet and call from the players.
The river saw 7♣ hit the board, and for a third time, the original raiser checked and Nalbandyan put out a third bet of the hand. His opponent paused for a moment while studying the board before deciding to make the call.
Nalbandyan tabled K♣Q♣ for top pair, which proved the winner as his opponent mucked his hand.

Down to only two big blinds Sullivan Cittadino had called the cutoff raise of Michael Hauptman to himself all in. Big blind Paul Zappulla came along for the ride.
Hauptman and Zappulla checked down a board of 4♥K♣2♥K♥8♦. Cittadino turned over Q♥8♥ to triple up. PokerNews declared its intention to post the hand and asked the raucous table if they could provide a snappy title.
The response from Hauptman was more brilliant than expected, "Sully lands safely on the river!"

The start of Level 8 brought aggressive play at Table 44, where Bob Shao found himself in the small blind and involved in four-way action.
A player in late position, the button and the small blind called before the flop, but the player in the big blind raised, which resulted in calls from Shao and the other two players.
The flop produced Q♠A♠J♥, and fireworks for an action board.
Shao checked, and the big blind made a bet, which resulted in the player in late position to fold and the player on the button to call. With action back to Shao, he elected to make a check-raise bet, which the big blind re-raised and the button flatted. Shao, however, re-raised the action and the players in the big blind and button flatted.
The turn brought 9♦, and Shao led into the two players with a bet, which drew calls. The J♦ fell on the river to pair the board, and all three players checked.
“I’ve got top two,” the player in the big blind said as he tabled A♣Q♥.
Shao, however, quietly turned over K♣10♦ for Broadway and the winning hand. The player on the button mucked his hand, and the dealer pushed the big pot to Shao.

On a board of A♠2♦9♣10♥, Scott Ferguson checked to his opponent who tossed out a bet. Ferguson acted decisively in tossing out a raise that was called by his opponent before seeing the A♦ river.
Ferguson decided to lead with a bet this time that was quickly called by his opponent and after he turned up 9♥9♠ for nines full, his opponent tossed his cards towards the muck as Ferguson was awarded the pot.

Facing a flop of 8♠7♣4♣, small blind Sandy Sanchez put in a bet. Eric Thompkin called from under the gun, but Chris Claassen raised. Sanchez and Claassen both called and it was off to a turn of 4♥.
Sanchez again led out, but this time received only calls from Claassen and Thompkin. A Q♣ river added a possible flush to the straight on the board. All three players checked and Sanchez breathed a sigh of relief when his K♠K♣ won unimproved.
