Israel's Eran Carmi leads the final 28 players heading into Day 3 of the 2023 World Series of Poker Event #62: $1,500 Mixed No-Limit Hold’em/Pot-Limit Omaha at the Horseshoe and Paris Las Vegas.
The 28 finalists are all that remain of a record-smashing field that saw 2,076 players, up from 1,234 players in 2022’s contest. That field created a total prize pool of $2,771,460, with each of the returning players guaranteed a payday of at least $13,936. A winner will be crowned later this evening and will take home $410,659 and the coveted gold bracelet for their efforts.

With the money bubble breaking at the end of Day 1, the bust outs in the first part of Day 2 were fast and furious, seeing the likes of Patrick “Barny Boatman” Leonard, the actual Barny Boatman, Shaun Deeb, and Jared Jaffee all hitting the payout desk.
Players return to the event center Gold section at 1 p.m. local time today and will play down to a winner, so as always, keep it tuned to PokerNews for live coverage of this championship event.

Bretzfield check-called a bet from Wells for 175,000 on 3♥8♦6♣ flop and both players would check the 8♥ turn.
Wells bet a hefty 500,000 on the 5♥ river after Bretzfield checked once more and Bretzfield quickly called.
Wells mucked after Bretzfield tabled A♥Q♠Q♦9♥ for a pair of queens.
In another hand across the room, Bart Lybaert was eliminated by Day 1 chip leader Eran Carmi, who now has a commanding chip lead of 6,600,000.

Eran Carmi raised to 170,000 under the gun, with Pushpinder Singh defending his big blind.
Both players checked the J♣8♦3♣ flop. The 7♠ turn brought a bet of 300,000 from Singh, which Carmi called after a few moments.
The river brought the 4♠. Singh bet 500,000, and after another few moments of thought was called by Carmi.
Singh revealed 10♣10♦4♣4♥ for a rivered set, and he and Carmi laughed about how the hand played out as he pulled in the pot.
