Tribble’s Top Set Secures Pot

Livello 3 : Blinds 200/400, 400 ante

Kevin Tribble raised 900 under the gun and received calls from the player to his immediate left and the button.

The dealer fanned 92Q, which drew a check from the player in the big blind. Tribble continued with 3,000, prompting the player to his left to fold. The big blind, however, flatted.

The A appeared on the turn, which both players checked. The K showed up on the river and the player in the big blind led out with 2,800. Tribble immediately sat up in his chair and studied the board. He then made the call and his opponent showed 96 for a pair of nines. Tribble tabled AA for top set.

Tribble’s opponent chuckled seeing what he bet into.

“I should’ve raised you,” Tribble said with a laugh.

Livello 3 : Blinds 200/400, 400 ante

With 4,500 in the middle with the board reading 1098A at the turn, Maria Konnikova bet 2,400 from middle position and was called by the big blind.

The Q completed the board which brought in straight and flush opportunities. Both players opted to check. The big blind announced two pair and turned over 108. Konnikova responded "I've got a better two pair," and tabled Q8 to take the pot.

Faulhaber Fires Three Barrels

Livello 3 : Blinds 200/400, 400 ante

A player from middle position bet 1,000 and Jenerik Faulhaber called from the button.

Action was checked to Faulhaber on the J76 flop and he opted to bet for 1,100. The middle position player made the call.

The turn came the 5 and the player in middle position check-called a 3,500 bet from Faulhaber.

Action was once again checked back to Faulhaber on the 9 river and he bet once more, this time for 7,000. His opponent asked to see how many chips Faulhaber had behind and considered his options for about 40 seconds before making the fold, awarding Faulhaber a decent pot without him having to go to showdown.

Obara Shove Gets Through

Livello 3 : Blinds 200/400, 400 ante

The hijack bet 1,000 and received calls from the button and the small blind. Jun Obara made a huge shove for 40,100 from the big blind.

The three other players folded in unison and Obara tabled 1010 who gestured that they didn't want to play a multiway pot with that hand.

Meanwhile on a neighboring table, Perry Friedman was seen standing up and gathering their belongings, then headed to the exit.

Break Time

Livello 2 : Blinds 200/300, 300 ante

Players are on their first 20-minute break of the day. The field currently sits at 2,594 players.

McLaughlin Thins the Field

Livello 2 : Blinds 200/300, 300 ante

Adam Mclaughlin opened to 1,000 from under the gun and a player in middle position three-bet to 2,300. A player in the button called, as did McLaughlin.

The flop came 109K and Mclaughlin checked. The middle position player bet 5,000, folding out the player on the button. Mclaughlin check-raised to 14,000 and the middle position player moved all in for about 36,000. McLaughlin quickly called to put his opponent at risk.

Middle Position: AK
Adam McLaughlin: K10

Mclaughlin had his opponent's top pair crushed with top two-pair. The turn and river offered no improvement to the player in middle position, who was sent to the rail early as McLaughlin collected a sizable early pot.

Vener Grabs Pot with Quads

Livello 2 : Blinds 200/300, 300 ante

PokerNews walked up on a table where Scott Vener was all in on a board showing 81099K and his opponent was mulling a call.

His opponent eventually called.

“You’re going to want to write this one,” Vener told PokerNews before tabling 99.

His opponent tapped the table and showed he had K.

Vener explained that he raised preflop and his opponent called. Vener then said his opponent bet 4,000 on the flop and he called. The turn, which gave Vener quads, was checked before the river, where Vener doubled up.
