Khoa Nguyen Eliminated in 11th Place ($607,882)

Livello 34 : 150,000/300,000, 40,000 ante
Khoa Nguyen - 10th place
Khoa Nguyen - 10th place

Martin Staszko opened with a raise to 675,000 from under the gun, then Khoa Nguyen made it 1.75 million to go from the hijack seat. It folded back to Staszko who paused a short while, then announced he was reraising all in. Nguyen quickly called, committing his entire stack of a little over 7 million.

Nguyen: {10-Spades}{10-Clubs}
Staszko: {K-Hearts}{K-Diamonds}

Nguyen remained at the table, while Staszko walked some distance away. The flop came {A-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}, no help to Nguyen. The turn was the {6-Clubs} and Nguyen was down to his last card. The dealer burned and turned over the river -- the {6-Hearts} -- and Nguyen is out in 11th. Staszko looks to have around 30 million now.

There will be a delay as the final 10 players redraw for seats around the not-quite-final final table. Just one elimination to go!

Raising Big and Getting Paid...Sort Of

Badih Bounahra opened to 1.1 million from the hijack seat, and won the pot.

After the hand, Ben Lamb pulled out a handful of $100 bills, and asked to see Bounahra's hand. He obliged, tabling {a-Diamonds}{a-Clubs} and scooping up the Benjamins.

Yeahp!

Khoa Nguyen was first into the pot with a raise to 625,000, and Phil Collins three-bet to 1.5 million from the button. Next door in the small blind, Anton Makievskyi figured a cold four-bet was in order, and he made it 4 million total. That folded Nguyen rather quickly, but Collins made another raise over the top -- all in. Makievskyi pointed a firm finger at Collins' chips as he nonverbally demanded the count. It was 16.095 million, and it would be some long, agonizing time in the tank before Makievskyi surrendered.

"I've been waiting for this moment... for all my life!... Oh, Phil!" his fans yell in unison.

Heinz Spikes to Stay Alive

Pius Heinz reacts to the river card that doubled him up.
Pius Heinz reacts to the river card that doubled him up.

John Hewitt opened from under the gun to 650,000 before action folded to Pius Heinz on the button. He reraised all in for 8.06 million. After the two blinds folded, Hewitt snap-called and tabled the {A-Hearts}{K-Spades}. Heinz was all in and at risk with the dominated {K-Clubs}{J-Clubs}.

The flop came down {10-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{7-Hearts} and Hewitt stayed in front. Heinz did pick up a straight draw and a backdoor flush draw.

The turn was the {6-Hearts} and then the river landed with the {9-Diamonds}, completing the straight for Heinz. With his straight to the jack, Heinz doubled up to 16.81 million. Hewitt was knocked back to 18.18 million.

Bryan Devonshire Eliminated in 12th Place ($607,882)

Eoghan O'Dea opened for 650,000 from the hijack seat and it folded to Bryan Devonshire in the big blind. Devonshire checked his cards, then shoved all in for approximately 3 million. O'Dea made the call.

Devonshire tabled {K-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds} and was in need of help against O'Dea's {A-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts}. The flop came {J-Clubs}{2-Hearts}{4-Hearts}, temporarily quelling the yells from Devonshire's supporters. The turn was the {Q-Clubs}, producing an "oooooh" at the sight of paint. "Wrong card," said a helmet-wearing Devo fan.

Devonshire sat with a resigned look, and when the river came the {7-Spades} he shook his head in acknowledgment, then stood to shake O'Dea's hand.

Devonshire is out in 12th, while O'Dea is now up over 39 million.

Holden Four-Bet Shoves, Bounahra Finds a Fold

Samuel Holden min-raised to 600,000 from the hijack seat, Badih Bounahra three-bet to 1.7 million from the small blind, and the action folded back to Holden. He tanked, then four-bet shoved for 10.21 million. Bounahra sat back in his chair with his left hand covering his mouth while the tournament director counted Holden's stack.

Once the amount was confirmed, Bounahra re-sweated his cards, looked into the stands, then sweated them once more. He asked for the count again, the tournament director gave it to him, and he started counting his own stack. Bounahra was tossing and turning in his swirly chair like it was 4 a.m. and he couldn't sleep, then finally stood up, putting his hands on his hips.

After less than about a minute of standing, Bounahra sat back down and unhappily mucked his hand.
