Nguyen-ing!

A short-stacked Khoa Nguyen moved all in under the gun for 3.22 million and action folded around to Konstantinos Mamaliadis in the cutoff. He moved all in over the top and cleared out the rest of the field.

Showdown
Nguyen: {10-Spades}{10-Hearts}
Mamaliadis: {A-Spades}{K-Spades}

It was a classic flip as the flop came down {J-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}. Nguyen had survived the tough part, and things got even easier when the {10-Diamonds} hit the turn, guaranteeing Nguyen the double. The meaningless {3-Hearts} was run out on the river, dropping Mamaliadis to 3.65 million.

Nguyen Doubles

Action folded to Khoa Nguyen in the hijack and he moved all in for 1.595 million. Konstantinos Mamaliadis called from the small blind and it was off to the races.

Showdown
Nguyen: {9-Spades}{9-Hearts}
Mamaliadis: {A-Clubs}{Q-Clubs}

Nguyen was out in front and stayed there as the board ran out {7-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{8-Spades}{6-Clubs}. Granted, there was a straight on the board, but Nguyen's hand gave him a nine-high straight for the double.

Andrey Pateychuk Eliminated in 15th Place ($478,174)

Andrey Pateychuk - 15th Place
Andrey Pateychuk - 15th Place

From under the gun, Andrey Pateychuk raised all in for 4.3 million. Action folded to Pius Heinz in the cutoff seat and he made the call. Everyone else folded.

Pateychuk: {A-Clubs}{Q-Spades}
Heinz: {J-Spades}{J-Hearts}

The board ran out {K-Hearts}{6-Spades}{3-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{10-Clubs} and Pateychuk was chucked out as he couldn't hit an ace or a queen to stay alive. He was eliminated in 15th place for nearly $480,000. Heinz moved to over 25 million in chips.

With the elimination of Pateychuk, only 14 players remain and the ESPN production team has halted play until 4:30 PM PT.

Hewitt Helps Himself

Livello 33 : 120,000/240,000, 30,000 ante
John Hewitt
John Hewitt

John Hewitt raised to 500,000 from early position, and it folded all of the way around to Konstantinos Mamaliadis in the big blind who called. The flop came {Q-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}. Mamaliadis checked, Hewitt bet 675,000, then Mamaliadis check-raised to 1.375 million. Hewitt paused, then called the raise.

The turn brought the {J-Spades} and a check from Mamaliadis. Hewitt waited a short while, then pushed out a bet of 1 million. Mamaliadis called.

The river was the {8-Clubs}. Mamaliadis checked one more time, and Hewitt quickly slid out a column of lavender chips, a bet of 2.3 million. Mamaliadis sat in thought for at least a couple of minutes, chewing his gum slowly as he contemplated the situation. Finally he folded.

Hewitt is closing in on 19 million now, while Mamaliadis has about 7.7 million.

Giannetti Gets Involved and Takes One Down

From the cutoff seat, Ben Lamb raised to 525,000. Matt Giannetti made the call from the big blind and the flop came down {9-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{4-Spades}. Both players checked to see the {9-Diamonds} pair the board on the turn. Both players checked again.

The river was the {2-Diamonds} and Giannetti fired an even one million. Lamb folded and Giannetti won the pot.
