Mamaliadis Folds to Devonshire

Action folded to Konstantinos Mamaliadis on the button and he raised to 550,000. The small blind folded, but Bryan Devonshire moved all in from the big. A call would cost Mamaliadis his entire stack, so he thought better of it and released, preserving his 4.5 million.

Looking for a Comeback Nguyen

Livello 33 : 120,000/240,000, 30,000 ante
Khoa Nguyen
Khoa Nguyen

Right now of the 13 players remaining, Khoa Nguyen has the shortest stack of them all. Just now there was a preflop raise from under the gun by Phil Collins to 525,000, and when it folded around to Nguyen in the small blind he reraised all in, forcing out both Eoghan O'Dea in the big blind and Collins.

Nguyen is still the short stack, though, and has a lot of work to do to make that comeback. He presently sits with 4.1 million (about 17 big blinds).

Pass the Ketchup

Pius Heinz opened to 525,000 from under the gun, John Hewitt three-bet to 1.1 million on the button, and Heinz called. The flop was {a-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}, and both players checked.

The {q-Hearts} turned, Heinz checked again, and Hewitt fired 1.25 million. Heinz released, and Hewitt picked up another pot from Heinz.

Some for Staszko

Livello 33 : 120,000/240,000, 30,000 ante

It folded to Phil Collins on the button who opened for 500,000, and Martin Staszko called from the big blind. The flop came {9-Spades}{2-Hearts}{6-Clubs} and both players checked. The turn brought the {10-Clubs} and two more checks.

The river was the {A-Diamonds}. Staszko bet 750,000 this time, and after thinking for a while Collins tossed in his hand. Staszko has 13.6 million now, while Collins is just a touch under 20 million.

Hewitt Loves the Ladies

John Hewitt celebrates with his rail after winning a monster pot.

John Hewitt opened to 525,000, Pius Heinz three-bet to 1.175 million on the button, and the action folded back to Hewitt who called.

The dealer fanned {2-Clubs}{4-Hearts}{k-Clubs}, and Hewitt checked. Heinz continued for 950,000, and Hewitt called.

The turn was the {6-Diamonds}, Hewitt checked again, and Heinz tanked before firing 2.125 million. Hewitt immediately called, and checked a third time once the {10-Clubs} hit the river. Heinz thought for nearly two minutes, then slid out a massive bet of 4.4 million. Hewitt did not act as quick as he did on previous streets, but he still called rather swiftly, and Heinz mucked as soon as he did.

Hewitt tabled {q-Clubs}{q-Diamonds} for a pair of queens, the stood up, clapping in celebration. He raked in a monster pot, and is now neck-and-neck with Anton Makievskyi and Eoghan O'Dea for the chip lead.

This One Goin' to Eoghan

Eoghan (pronounced "Owen") O'Dea opened for 500,000 from under the gun, and it folded back to Bryan Devonshire who defended his big blind. The flop came {9-Diamonds}{A-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}. Devonshire checked, O'Dea bet 550,000, and Devonshire called.

The turn brought the {4-Hearts}. Devonshire checked again, and this time O'Dea pushed out 1.4 million. Devonshire took a few seconds, then released his hand.

O'Dea pushes back to about 27 million. Meanwhile, Devonshire has about 13.3 million.

Nguyen All In and Dominated

Khoa Nguyen celebrates a a chop to stay alive.
Khoa Nguyen celebrates a a chop to stay alive.

Khoa Nguyen moved all in from early position and received a call from Eoghan O'Dea in the cutoff. The rest of the players got out of the way, and Nguyen found himself in bad shape.

Showdown
O'Dea: {A-Diamonds}{J-Hearts}
Nguyen: {A-Spades}{2-Hearts}

Both players shared an ace, but the jack kicker of O'Dea put him out in front. The {10-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds} flop did open up some chop opportunities for Nguyen, as did the {10-Hearts} turn. Suddenly a deuce would win it for Nguyen, while any king, queen, ten, or three would allow him to chop.

Wouldn't you know it, the {K-Diamonds} spiked on the river to keep Nguyen's dreams alive.

Giannetti Blocks the River

Badih Bounahra raised to 600,000 preflop and Matt Giannetti called from the big blind. The flop came down {J-Diamonds}{J-Hearts}{7-Hearts}. Giannetti checked and Bounahra bet 1.2 million. Giannetti made the call.

The turn was the {A-Diamonds} and both players checked to see the {3-Clubs} fall on the river. With the board now complete, Giannetti bet 525,000. Bounahra called.

Giannetti showed the {Q-Clubs}{Q-Hearts} and Bounahra mucked.
