Two more double-ups to report here just before the dinner break.
In the first, Mitchell Cogert was all in with and against Zohair Karim's . The board ran out , and Cogert's sevens held. He has 789,000 now, while Karim has 1.593 million.
In the other, we picked up the action on the turn with the board showing . Tyler Bonkowski bet 108,000, Scott Schwalich raised to 345,000, and Bonkowski called. The river brought the and an all-in shove for 814,000 from Schwalich, which Bonkowski called.
Schwalich showed for a spade flush, and Bonkowski mucked. Schwalich moves up to 2.7 million there, while Bonkowski now has 1.9 million.
On a flop of , Sorel Mizzi bet 200,000 from the big blind and received a call from Aleksandr Mozhnyakov in middle position. When the appeared on the turn, Mizzi bet 335,000, Mozhnyakov moved all in, and Mizzi called off for an additional 700,000.
Showdown
Mizzi:
Mozhnyakov:
Mizzi had flopped a full house and was ahead of Mozhnyakov's trips. Mizzi needed to dodge a nine, jack, and ace on the river to survive, but the peeled off to put a dagger through his heart. Just like that, Mizzi was eliminated from the tournament in 95th place ($64,531).
From the hijack seat, Ryan Lenaghan raised to 65,000. In the small blind, Julian Stuer reraised to 170,000. Lenaghan then four-bet to 430,000. Stuer reraised all in for between 1.6 and 1.7 million, but was met with a quick call from Lenaghan.
Lenaghan:
Stuer:
The board ran out and Stuer was eliminated as Lenaghan moved to six million in chips.
When we reached the table, the board read . Lars Bonding checked to Stuart Tuvey who fired 125,000, and Bonding check-raised to 270,000. Tuvey paused for a bit, then called.
"Ace-high," Bonding announced.
Tuvey rolled over for a pair of sevens, Bonding mucked, and Tuvey pulled in the pot.
Christopher Moore open-raised all in for his last 572,000 from middle position, and it folded around to Claudia Crawford in the big blind. She tanked for more than a minute, then finally set out a stack of chips to call.
When Moore tabled his hand -- -- Crawford winced, then showed her . "He doesn't have to have ace-king there," she told her neighbor as all waited for the cameras to come into place. "He could have ace-jack, ace-ten, pairs."
Finally ready, the dealer delivered the flop . The on the turn then provided an extra sweat for Moore, but the fell on the river and he survived to play on. Moore now has about 1.15 million, while Crawford still has 2.3 million.
Back over on the feature table, the action folded around to Mario Silvestri who raised to 60,000 from the button before the flop. Christian Harder folded his small blind, then Phil Collins shoved over the top from the big blind holding .
Silvestri committed the rest of his stack into the middle, electing to flip for his tournament life with . As it turned out, it worked - the board was spread - and Silvestri doubled up to more than 1.6 million. Collins shrugged it off - after all, he's still got nine million and change.
We're not sure of how the money got all in, but Nathan Meyvis committed his last 378,000 and was at risk against Gionni Demers.
Showdown
Demers:
Meyvis:
The flop wasn't much help to Meyvis, but the turn did give him an open-ended straight draw. Unfortunately for him, the blanked on the river and he was eliminated from the Main Event. Demers is up to 1.4 million.
Khoa Nguyen opened for 65,000 from late position and it folded around to Allen Cunningham in the small blind who three-bet all in. Nguyen made the call and the hands were turned up:
Nguyen:
Cunningham:
Cunningham kept the lead when the flop came and was ensured a victory when the fell on the turn. The fell on the river and Cunningham was able to double up to 1,000,000 chips.
We're not sure exactly how it happened -- likely a preflop all in -- but Stephane Albertini has just collected Tahsyn Mekani's bounty and the rest of his chips.
Mekani got his short stack in with , and Albertini's had him pipped. The board ran through , and Albertini's pair was bigger than Mekani's. That's the end of the road for another player, and a satisfied Mekani has gone to the payout desk to pick up more than $60,000.
Albertini is up to 4.3 million, and he's got his own personal cheering section as the French media swarm around him like bees.
