2011 World Series of Poker
Emil Patel kept up his aggressive ways with another opening raise, this time from the cutoff seat and to 24,000. Juha Vilkki called from the button and Elie Payan called from the big blind. With three players in action, the dealer slid the flop across the middle of the felt. Payan fired straight out for 42,000. Both of his opponents folded and Payan won the pot.
After the action was folded around to him in the small blind, Jeff Sarwer limped in and Roland Israelashvili checked the action. The dealer spread a flop of across the table and Sarwer led out for a bet of 16,000. Israelashvili called and the turn card came .
After Sarwer fired a bet of 33,000 into the middle, Israelashvili calmly tossed a few chips worth 85,000 into the pot and stared straight at the board. Sarwer went deep into the tank and contemplated his next move for over three minutes, repeatedly glancing over at Israelashvili.
Eventually, the former chess master pushed his entire stack forward for a bet of nearly 350,000, which was enough to force Israelashvili all-in. The power move worked to perfection and Israelashvili tossed his cards into the muck. This pot boosted Sarwer's stack to 535,000 while Israelashvili dropped to 180,000 with the loss.
