Dean Lyall pushed most of his chips into the middle preflop, leaving just a single 5,000 chip behind. Ahmed Karrim made the call and the flop came 6♣2♣Q♣.
Lyall put his last 5,000 in the middle and Karrim called. Players flipped their cards.
Dean Lyall: A♣J♥
Ahmed Karrim: 8♦8♣
Lyall had plenty of outs with his flush draw and overcards, but the turn came the 3♠ and river the 4♦. Lyall missed and Karrim held with his pocket eights to win the pot, eliminating Lyall from the tournament.
In a blind versus blind battle and around 350,000 in the pot on a board of 3♣8♦8♠5♠, Jack Kiriakus bet 225,000 from the small blind. Haoran Cai used three time banks before he moved all in for 720,000.
Kiriakus also took his time until eventually calling to put Cai at risk. Cai showed A♠10♠ for a flush draw, while Kiriakus was ahead with 10♥3♠ for two pair. Kiriakus stood up and clasped his hands in prayer waiting for the river, which came the 2♦ to earn him the pot and the bustout.
"Genius. One hundred percent flush draw," he said as let out a big fist pump.
At the same time at another table, Fernando Valverde was all in for around 250,000 from the small blind and up against Panagiotis Mavritsakis on the button.
Fernando Valverde: A♥K♥
Panagiotis Mavritsakis: A♣9♥
Valverde flopped the nuts on 5♥3♥10♥ and was already collecting the pot as the rest of the board ran out 5♣Q♦ to earn him a double up.
Rania Nasreddine raised to 40,000 under the gun and was jammed on by hijack Patrik Karabincik. Nasreddine covered Karabincik's 240,000 chips and quickly called.
Patrik Karabincik: Q♠Q♣
Rania Nasreddine: K♦K♣
Nasreddine's superior pair firmly held on the 10♥3♣4♠2♦7♠ board, spelling the end for Karabincik and adding another chapter to Nasreddine's comeback story.
David Coleman raised to 40,000 in the hijack and was called by Scott Margereson in the big blind.
On the A♦8♥2♦ flop, Margereson checked to Coleman who bet 20,000. Margereson clicked it up to 40,000, leaving himself 100,000 behind.
Coleman called and on the Q♥ turn, Margereson moved in his last few chips and was called instantly by Coleman.
Scott Margereson: A♠3♦
David Coleman: A♥9♣
Coleman's superior pair of aces had Margereson on the ropes, and after the 6♥ completed the board, Margereson was ousted while Coleman added more to his increasingly dangerous chip stack.
Catalin Moraru had committed his stack of around ten big blinds to the pot and was put at risk by Gabriel Cunha.
Catalin Moraru: 9♥9♦
Gabriel Cunha: J♣J♠
Moraru whiffed the 4♥A♠7♦ flop and was up on his feet, seemingly without hope of spiking a nine. However, when the 9♠ fell on the turn he stopped in his tracks as he improved to a set and took the lead. Just as Moraru's hopes had been lifted, they were soon shattered to pieces as the J♥ river gave his opponent a bigger set, which left the Romanian player on the sidelines.
Fabiano Kovalski raised to 55,000 in the small blind. Matteo Orchide sat in the big blind and jammed all in for 365,000. Kovalski eyed his opponent's stack and then made a quick call.
Matteo Orchide: K♦Q♥
Fabiano Kovalski: K♣J♣
Orchide had the dominating hand, but that changed when the 2♠A♣J♦ flop gave Kovalski a pair.
The Q♣ turn saw Orchide reclaim the lead, but the 7♣ river made Kovalski a flush to eliminate Orchide from the Main Event.
Simon Wiciak raised to 60,000 from the button, Jack Kiriakus called in the small blind, and the big blind came along.
The flop came 7♣J♦9♥ and action checked to Wiciak, who bet 45,000. Kiriakus check-raised to 100,000, the big blind folded and Wiciak called. Both players then checked it back on the 2♣ turn.
The river was the 4♦ and Kiriakus put out a small bet of 50,000. Wiciak folded and Kiriakus won the pot.
