A Numbers Game
The 2011 World Series of Europe Main Event has smashed its previous record. An incredible two days of registration saw 593 players put up the €10,000 required, and they've generated a prize pool of nearly €5.7 million. That money will be divided among the final 54 players, and the bottom payout is worth twice the buyin. Everyone in the final eight will earn six figures this week, and the top three will all become half-millionaires.
The lucky man or woman who ends up with all the chips will earn a cool €1.4 million -- the largest prize ever awarded at the WSOPE... and the largest ever awarded in France, too!
Oh, and the bracelet. With the prize fixed firmly in their sights, the 328 remaining players are gunning for WSOP gold.
