John Tabatabai Eliminated
Former WSOPE Main Event runner-up John Tabatabai has just been eliminated in unfortunate circumstances. When we got to the table Tabatabai was on his feet, assessing the damage, and he looked gutted. In the middle of the table surrounded by chips was the board - . Lying just above the board was the hand and it belonged to Stefano Povia. It seems Tabatabai had a decision for his tournament life on the turn when he was faced with an all-in shove. Tabatabai told us that against any other player he would have folded, but this particular player had a lot of worst flush draws in his range and he felt he had to call. Tabatabia had and after the mess was sorted out by the dealer he was only left with 700 chips.
Then what a wrong time to pick to put those last 700 chips into the middle of the table. Moritz Kranich raised to 1,025, Tabatabai moved his last 700 into the middle, Joseph Elpayaa three-bet to 3,100, Philippe Boucher four-bet to 8,200 and Moritz Kranich five-bet to 23,775. Boucher folded and Kranich and Tabatabai were at showdown.
