Muck His Hand

Livello 1 : 50/100, 0 ante

On a {3-Diamonds} {5-Clubs} {8-Clubs} flop, we picked up the action as the under-the-gun player led out with a bet of 600 in a heads-up pot. Jon Aguiar was in position, and he flicked the call into the pot to see the {10-Clubs} on the turn. Mr. UTG bet another 1,500, and Aguiar studied for just a bit longer before calling once again.

The {A-Clubs} rivered with a fourth club, and both players checked. When Aguiar checked to close the action, Mr. UTG threw his cards face-down into the middle of the table, after which the dealer motioned to Aguiar to show his cards. He sat as still as a statue.

"Muck his hand," he ordered.

The dealer repeated her request to see his cards, but he refused. "Muck his cards."

"No, I need to see," the dealer responded.

Aguiar was getting frustrated, and he now spoke more firmly with a pointed finger: "Touch his cards with your hand and move them towards the muck, and then I'll show my hand."

"Floor!" the dealer called.

A couple of the other players quickly jumped on the bandwagon and finally, the dealer obliged and mucked the losing hand. Immediately, Aguiar tabled his {A-Spades} {A-Hearts} to win the pot, and he's moved up just a bit from his starting stack.
