At least that's what we assume when Romain Matteoli turned over the winning hand on the river. The hand played out as following.
The flop was when day one chipleader Alessandro Speranza checked to Matteoli who bet 1,800. Speranza called quickly and the turn was the . Speranza check-called a 3,500 bet that got us to see the on the river. For the third consecutive time Speranza checked and Matteoli bet 5,000. The Italian tanked for close to a minute and than called to see that Matteoli had rivered a pair of queens, he showed . Speranza mucked and was left behind with around 25,000 chips. Matteoli is looking healthy with 45,000 chips.
Intrepid reporter "Happy_Freaked" brought you news of an important clash between Phil Hellmuth and Vanessa Selbst just a few short minutes ago (Hellmuth and Selbst Clash in Big One). Then this happened.
Selbst made a standard raise from early position and Hellmuth made the three-bet from the button. Action back on to Selbst and she four-bet to a clean 10,000, putting the pressure right back to Hellmuth.
"Alright, I guess I am all in," said Hellmuth.
Selbst looked far from happy, but eventually made the call.

Both players shook hands and a bitterly disappointed Selbst departed.
"I really respect her game (Selbst), but during the break I told myself that if I had the chance I would move all in with Jacks," Hellmuth said to his table mate.
Hellmuth is right up there with Casey Kastle at the top of the chip counts.

From the under-the-gun position, Phil Hellmuth raised to 2,200 and Hans Winzeler made the call from the cutoff. Vanessa Selbst was on the button and also called, so we had three-way action on the flop.
The flop was and Hellmuth bet out 4,000. Winzeler folded before Selbst called. The turn was the and this time Hellmuth opted to check. Selbst went into the tank and counted out a 9,800-chip bet. Hellmuth pondered for a while, counted out the chips and eventually rumbled them into the pot.
The completed the board and Hellmuth snap-checked once more. Selbst took even more time than on the turn but ended up betting 25,700. "I call!" Hellmuth shouted within a split second and turned over the . Selbst shrugged and mucked her cards.
The two engaged in a conversation with the following cliff notes, Hellmuth really liked the king on the river and Selbst was convinced the 11-time bracelet winner would have folded if it wasn't for the king.
Selbst still has just under the average stack while Hellmuth is amongst the largest stacks in the room.
