The Hellmuth Show Continues
He was quiet for almost two entire days but ever since Benjamin Pollak clashed with him a couple of orbits ago Phil hasn't stopped talking! We joined the action in a big pot with the board showing and Anton Wigg bet 23,800. Hellmuth gave it some thought before calling and this put Pollak in a very tough spot. After a while Pollak folded his set of treys and Wigg showed . Hellmuth sat motionless for a number of seconds before releasing his cards.
"This guy! He's trying to give me all his chips! He's been bluffing all night long. Come on!" Phil shouted at Wigg who just stacked his chips without replying. "At least the live one is playing pots," Phil added to his rant.
"I'm quite alive indeed," Wigg replied.
The very next hand Wigg raised to 4,800, getting calls from, yet again, Hellmuth and Pollak. The flop brought out and after Hellmuth had checked, Pollak bet 6,200. Wigg called and so did Hellmuth. The turn was the and within a second Hellmuth threw out 14,000 chips. Pollak folded but Wigg was going nowhere. The river was the and Hellmuth verbally announced his 22,000 bet. Wigg snap-folded and Hellmuth instantly showed his .
"Of course I have the nuts!" Hellmuth yelled for everyone to hear.
Wigg could only produce a little smirk right before the next hand started. The player to Wigg's right raised to 5,000 and within seconds the Swede released a 11,700 size three-bet.
"How much is it?" Hellmuth asked, and affter getting confirmation he called. The initial raiser folded so Wigg and Hellmuth clashed for the third consecutive hand. The flop brought out and Hellmuth check-folded to Wigg's 8,700 bet. "Floor!" Hellmuth shouted to keep his show going before releasing his hand. "When are you gonna break this table?" the 11-time bracelet winner asked. The floor explained that this was going to be one of the two final tables and Hellmuth responded with, "Good. I've made some plans. My style is great. It's just great". Hellmuth showed his and Wigg tabled his proving he actually had a hand. "You won a flip, so what?" Hellmuth added leaving Wigg with a smile on his face.
We will make sure we follow all of this banter, action and Hellmuth antics for the remainder of the day because the fireworks between Wigg, Pollak and the self proclaimed best player in the world seem to be far from over.
