The inaugural $3,000 Mid-Stakes Championship No-Limit Hold'em at the 2024 World Series of Poker (WSOP) proved popular with 1,161 entrants turning out for Day 1a of the event. We are still awaiting an official count for Day 1b, but with 593 players making it through Day 1b (for a total Day 2 field of 917) expectations are high.

Jonathan Newman (573,500) headed up the Day 1a chip counts, and holds his position after the Day 1b bags have been counted up. The Day 1b chip leader was Dusti Smith with a stack of 492,000, falling a fair bit short of Newman's stack.

Zachary Zaret (465,000) of Canada and Boris Kolev (417,000) of Bulgaria round out the Day 1b podium positions.
