Franchi Doubles Through Wu

Livello 34 : Blinds 250,000/500,000, 500,000 ante

Malcolm Franchi opened to 1,000,000 from early position before Yake Wu three-bet to 3,000,000 in late position. Action folded back around to Franchi, who moved all in for 7,175,000. Wu made the call with the covering stack to put his opponent at risk.

Malcolm Franchi: KK All in
Yake Wu: A8

Wu had attempted a move at the wrong time to leave Franchi in a good position to get a full double. The 27Q flop was clean for the cowboys with the K turn locking up the pot for Franchi prior to the 3 river.

Charles Russell raised to 1,100,000 and Brian Rast three-bet to 2,700,000 from the next seat. Jonathan Tamayo then four-bet jammed for 12,250,000 in the small blind and Russell folded.

Rast went into the tank and made the call with a stack of 11,225,000.

Brian Rast: AQ All in
Jonathan Tamayo: KK

The 992 flop gave Rast some back door outs with the superior flush and that hope remained with the 3 turn. "One time. One fuckin time, do it for the kids," could be heard from the table.

What followed was the K on the river and Tamayo improved to kings full of nines to send the WSOP Poker Hall of Fame member to the rail in 24th place for $350,000.

Astedt Keeps His Foot on the Gas

Livello 34 : Blinds 250,000/500,000, 500,000 ante

Yake Wu opened to 1,000,000 in early position and then called after Niklas Astedt three-bet to 3,000,000 on the button.

Wu check-called a bet of 1,600,000 from Astedt on the 2K10 flop.

Action checked through the A turn to the A river where Wu checked one last time. Astedt, unwilling to go to a cheap showdown, pushed a hefty 8,000,000 into the pot. Wu took some time making a decision but ultimately chose to fold his hand to keep Astedt's ascension since the three table redraw going.
