Russell Rosenblum Eliminated in 46th Place ($200,000)

Livello 32 : Blinds 150,000/300,000, 300,000 ante
Russell Rosenblum
Russell Rosenblum

Russell Rosenblum opened to 2,700,000 from the cutoff, leaving himself just 175,000 behind. Jason Sagle then three-bet to 6,800,000 on the button, which forced the blinds out of the hand. Rosenblum called off for his remaining chips to put himself at risk.

Russell Rosenblum: A7 All in
Jason Sagle: KK

Rosenblum had run right into kings and found no help on the 35Q10J runout to bring his deep run to an end in 46th place, thus ending his hopes of reaching the second main event final table of his career after a sixth place finish in the 2002 edition.

Edward Pak
Edward Pak

Edward Pak was all in from the small blind against under-the-gun player Arthur Morris, who had him covered.

Edward Pak: A4 All in
Arthur Morris: J10

The flop of Q49 gave Morris an open-ended straight flush draw, and the 8 turn gave him the straight to leave Pak drawing dead before Morris improved to a straight flush on the 8 river for added emphasis. Pak finished in 47th place and earned $200,000 for his deep run.

The first level of Day 7 saw ten players depart from the field, leaving the 49 remaining contestants taking a 20-minute break.

Below are some highlights of Level 31 of the Main Event

Davis on Fumes After Doubling Hernandez

Livello 31 : Blinds 125,000/250,000, 250,000 ante
Gerardo Hernandez
Gerardo Hernandez

Start of day chipleader Kevin Davis opened to 600,000 from under the gun and Gerardo Hernandez three-bet to 2,000,000 in the cutoff. Davis responded by four-betting to 6,100,000 before snapping off with the slightly larger stack after Hernandez shoved for 19,600,000.

Gerardo Hernandez: AA All in
Kevin Davis: KK

It was the ultimate preflop cooler with massive equity implications on the line. The J109 flop did give Davis some hope in the form of a gutshot but nothing changed on either the J turn or 2 river to hand Hernandez a huge double that sees him capture the tournament chiplead while leaving Davis with dust.

Three Streets of Value for Foxen

Livello 31 : Blinds 125,000/250,000, 250,000 ante

Kristen Foxen opened to 500,000 from middle position and Tomas Szwarcberg defended his big blind with the A8.

Szwarcberg check-called for 450,000 on the 972 flop, bringing in the 10 turn. Szwarcberg checked once more and Foxen continued with the aggression, sizing up to 1,600,000. Szwarcberg took his time before calling.

With 5,475,000 in the pot, the 2 completed the board. Szwarcberg put in a third check, prompting Foxen to fire a third barrel of 3,200,000 after some thinking time of her own.

Szwarcberg went back into the tank, and found a call.

Foxen tabled JJ for two pair, which was good to take the pot.
