Safar Picks Up Aces to Double Off Lowe

Heads-up on a flop of Q♠9♥4♦, Pedro Safar bet 200,000 from early position and Richard Lowe called in middle position.

The turn was the 2♥ and Safar moved all in for 1,400,000. Lowe considered the decision for nearly a minute before calling.

Safar showed A♠A♥ and Lowe tapped the felt as he turned over 5♠5♦. The river was the 4♠ and Safar doubled up.

Biao Ding was eliminated at the same time on another table.

Both players checked on the 3♣ turn and then Kim led out for 600,000 after the 7♣ filled the river.

Zanette paused and then put a raise to 1,500,000 total into the middle. Kim went deep into the tank and eventually folded after a tablemate said he would be calling the clock.

Stephen Song in the hijack opened to 300,000, then Niklas Astedt in the cutoff three-bet to 800,000. The button and the blinds folded, and Song decided to four-bet all-in. Astedt looked at his cards and snap-called.

Even if he had aces, Astedt was not guaranteed to win as the flop of J♠8♠10♣ gave a flush draw to Song. The 2♣ turn didn't change anything, and Astedt was able to double his 6,100,000 chip stack after the 9♣ river.

Jason Sagle and Luis Vazquez went to the river with the board showing 9♠3♣J♠9♦10♥ when Sagle bet 475,000 from the hijack.

Vazquez then raised to 2,000,000 in middle position and Sagle pondered the decision for around two minutes before calling. Vazquez angrily threw A♦Q♠ into the muck while Sagle turned over Q♣J♣ for jacks and nines to win the pot.

Action folded around to the blinds, where Mauro Juarez called from the small blind and Hiroki Nawa checked his option from the big blind.

Juarez check-called a 300,000 bet from Nawa on the 2♠9♣6♠ flop and then both players checked on the Q♣ turn.

The K♣ completed the board and Juarez led out for 500,000. Nawa thought a while and then raised to 1,900,000 — sending Juarez deep into the tank.

Juarez eventually put in a call after a few minutes and Nawa turned over 10♣6♣ for a flush. Juarez told Nawa, "Nice hand," and sent his own into the muck.

Szwarcberg then bet 250,000 on the 9♦ turn and Davis called. The A♥ river completed the board and Szwarcberg put out a bet of around 2,700,000. Davis quickly folded Q♥J♥ face-up.
