Kang Finds Value

Livello 10 : Blinds 800/1,600, 1,600 ante

A player from early position raised to 4,000 and was called by a player in middle position, and the big blind Hye Gyung Kang.

All three players checked after the 68A flop.

On the turn was the 7 and Kang bet 4,000. She was called by player in early position, and the player in middle position folded.

The river brought the 5 and Kang bet out 9,000, which was called by the early position player. She tabled 99 for a pair of nines, and her opponent mucked their hand, giving Kang the pot.

Heath’s Big Raise Gets a Customer

Livello 10 : Blinds 800/1,600, 1,600 ante

Six players saw the flop of 9A2. After both blinds checked, the player under the gun bet 3,000. The bet got called by the player in early position, while the player in middle position folded. Action was then on Greg Heath on the button, who made it 15,000. Both blinds folded, as did the player under the gun.

The last player left in the hand was the early position and after some thought, he decided to go all in for a few thousand more. Heath said he was worried about a set but called.

Early position: A7All in
Greg Heath: A9

The turn and river came the K and 7 respectively and while Heath’s opponent also made two pair by the river, Heath’s aces and nines took down the pot.

Breaking the Kings Curse

Livello 10 : Blinds 800/1,600, 1,600 ante

The table was excited to retell the story of how Orville Schlosser had lost with pocket kings to pocket aces three times and he still had a decent stack.
During this conversation a hand unfolded with action on the flop of 1027 and a built pot of about 25,000. The player in the big blind made a bet of 75,000 and Chris Barbeisch was in the cutoff and moved all in for 93,000. The big blind was pot committed and called.

Big blind: QQ

The turn came with the 10 and the river came with the 9 and kings held. The table could not help themselves to tease Schlosser and someone said, "Now that is how you play kings", which elicited laughter.

Borison Just Doesn’t Believe Salta

Livello 10 : Blinds 800/1,600, 1,600 ante

According to the players, Adrian Salta opened preflop from the button and Dan Borison defended the big blind.

The flop was 432. Borison check-raised Salta’s flop continuation bet, and Salta called.

The turn was the 3. Borison checked and called Salta’s 8,000-chip bet.

The river was the 4. After Borison checked, Salta grabbed a big stack of yellow 1,000 chips, 17 to be exact, and pushed them to the middle. Borison very quickly called. Salta turned over 94 for the rivered full house and Borison mucked his hand. In line with the cheerful mood at the table, Borison noted: “I just didn’t believe you!” “Clearly!” replied Salta. Borison added that he had called him down with an ace.

Aces Versus Kings Played A Bit Differently

Livello 9 : Blinds 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

Hand started with a player opening from under the gun to 2,700. Dave Asaki was in middle position and made it 12,300. Greg Heath on the button called. Under the gun folded.

Before the flop was even dealt, Asaki announced that he is going all in and Heath also quickly said he’s going to call. Both players efficiently had their bets in the middle before the dealer started dealing out the flop, which came 9K8. At this point the players turned over their hands.

Dave Asaki: AAAll in
Greg Heath: KK

Asaki was the player at risk and got an unfortunate flop. The turn was the 10. The river 10 gave Heath the full house and Asaki was sent packing.

The under-the-gun player, who had folded to the big three-bet and call preflop, said he had pocket tens and would have made quads by the river.
