Compton Rivers a Straight

Livello 1 : Blinds 100/100, 100 ante

Acton was picked up with 1,000 chips in the pot, and a board showing 7J6. David Compton bet out 600 from the small blind, both the big blind and a player in the cutoff made the call.

The turn brought the K and Compton again bet out 600, but this time the big blind folded, and the cutoff made the call.

On the river was the 8 and Compton fired out once more, for 1,000. The cutoff quickly called and tabled KQ for top pair with kings, but Compton had the winner when he showed 109 for a rivered straight.

Sardella Turns a Straight Flush

Livello 1 : Blinds 100/100, 100 ante

With around 4,000 chips in the pot and a board that read 5874, Jeff Sardella had checked to the player in the hijack, who bet 5,000. Sardella then shoved his stack of 18,000 into the middle, and the hijack snap-called for 14,000 total.

Hijack: KQ All in
Jeff Sardella: 76

The entire table was in disbelief that Sardella had turned a straight flush, which left the hijack drawing dead. A meaningless J completed the board and Sardella was pushed the pot, which sent his opponent to the rail early on.

Blackburn Spikes the River

Livello 1 : Blinds 100/100, 100 ante

A player from early position raised to 400 and was called by a player in middle position. Nick Blackburn three-bet to 1,700 from the cutoff, which the early position player called and the middle position player folded.

The flop came 5J2 and the player in early position check-called the bet of 2,000.

After the turn came with the 6, both players checked to the river.

The river was the K and after the early position player checked, Blackburn bet 2,000 and was quickly called. Blackburn tabled AK for top pair, top kicker, and his opponent mucked his hand.

The table also relayed info about the first hand of the tournament, when Mark Brennan eliminated a player after flopping quad queens. Brennan and his opponent got all the chips in on the turn, when his opponent needed a K for a royal flush. The river gave Brennan a sweat when it came the K, but his quads were still best and he doubled up on the first hand of the tournament.
