Legends Farha, Shulman and Greenstein Return to the Felt for Day 2 of Super Seniors
Another record-breaking event is underway at the 2024 World Series of Poker with Event #61: $1,000 Super Seniors No-Limit Hold'em. Day 2 is set to commence at 11 a.m. local time today at the Horseshoe and Paris Las Vegas. Out of a total of 3,362 entries, only 975 have advanced to Day 2, competing for a gigantic prize pool of $2,958,560. The first-place prize is $358,045 along with the prestigious bracelet. However, the competition remains fierce as only 505 players will reach the payout stage.
Leading the pack into Day 2 is David Goodkin with 349,500 in chips, followed by Paul Runge with 275,000 in chips and rounding out the top three is Robert Nolen with 264,000.

Several notable players are still in the running, including poker legends Sam Farha with 119,000, Lee Markholt with 136,500, Barry Shulman with 122,000, and Barry Greenstein with 43,500.
Massoud Eskandari, who won this event in 2022, is still in the field with 84,000 and James Hess, winner of the Senior's event in 2016, is also still a threat with 149,500.
Additionally, Grammy Award-winning Tony Mercedes, also known as Anthony Johnson, will be resuming play with 116,500. Johnson recently received a Lifetime Achievement Award from President Joe Biden.
Wendy Watson, Member of the Order of the British Empire which is an honor given directly by the Queen due to her relentless work with breast cancer, holds 50,500 in chips.
The action will resume at 11 a.m. local time at the Horseshoe Event Center, starting at Level 11 with blinds at 1,000/2,000 and a big blind ante of 2,000. Ten 60-minute levels are scheduled for the day, with a 15-minute break after every two levels and a 60-minute dinner break after Level 16.
