Sternheimer Shows an Eight to Take a Massive Pot

Livello 15 : Limits 10,000/20,000, 0 ante

Philip Sternheimer raised under the gun and picked up three callers, including Renan Bruschi on the button, Eric Wasserson in the small blind, and big blind Anthony Lazar.

Wasserson drew two, Lazar three, Sternheimer one, and Bruschi two. Sternheimer bet and Bruschi raised.

Wasserson called while Lazar got out of the way. Sternheimer reraised and both Bruschi and Wasserson called.

Wasserson drew two, Bruschi one, and Sternheimer stood pat. Sternheimer then bet and only Bruschi called.

Sternheimer again stood pat and Bruschi drew one. Both players checked and Sternheimer showed 8x7x6x5x2x. Bruschi tossed 7x4x3x2x into the muck as Sternheimer took the big pot.

A hand earlier, Justin Saliba had eliminated Ian Johns with 8x7x6x4x2x. Johns broke a ten as he drew one on the last draw but couldn't catch up as he was sent to the rail.

Cummings stood pat while Abronson drew two and called a bet.

On the second draw, Abronson took one and called another bet.

Abronson drew again on the final draw. Cummings checked, Abronson bet, and Cummings winced as he called. He got the bad news as his eight-six was outdrawn by Abronson's 7x6x5x4x2x and he was left with just 2,000.

Cummings was eliminated on the following hand.

Cohen Takes Out Kupin

"Just so you know, I used to play this game in the desert for water," Steve Zolotow said as Jonathan Cohen raised on the button. Zolotow called in the small blind, while Aaron Kupin stuck in his last chips from the big blind. Both Cohen and Zolotow called.

Zolotow and Cohen drew two and Kupin took three. Action was checked to the second draw where Zolotow took two, while Cohen and Kupin drew one.

Cohen then bet and Zolotow called. Zolotow and Kupin drew one, while Cohen stood pat. He bet again and Zolotow folded.

Cohen showed 8x6x5x4x2x and Kupin mucked an 8-7 on his way to the exit.

Chambers Can't Connect Against Leknes

Rheem and Wilkinson checked after the first draw. Yockey and Rheem stood pat while Wilkinsoon took one.

After the second draw Rheem bet and Wilkinson got out of the way leaving Yockey at risk against Rheem, who stood pat while Yockey took one for the final draw.

Yockey had 6x5x3x2x going into the final draw but was drawing dead against Rheem who had 7x6x4x3x2x for number two. After the final draw Yockey made his exit from the tournament area while Rheem claimed the last of his chips.
