Blumstein Hero Calls For Tournament Life

Livello 18 : Blinds 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante
Scott Blumstein
Scott Blumstein

The action was relayed to PokerNews after the fact. Scott Blumstein limped from the hijack and the small blind completed. Phil Badiola checked his option in the big blind and the trio saw a flop of J103. All three players checked around and the 2 hit the turn.

The small blind checked again and Badiola bet 25,000, which only Blumstein came along. The 3 completed the board and Badiola moved all in, covering the 191,000 remaining for Blumstein, who went deep in the tank.

After much deliberation, Blumstein made the call and the hands were shown. Badiola tabled QxJx for a pair of jacks and Blumstein showed KxQx for the king-high hero call as he made his way to the payout desk.

Chipleader Lopez Catches a Bluff

Livello 18 : Blinds 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante
Emmanual Lopez
Emmanual Lopez

Emmanuel Lopez took 25,000 chips off his massive stack and put them in the middle for a raise from middle position. Charlie Chiu was on the button and called, and Mike Lancaster defended his big blind.

The trio then checked through the 839 flop before Lancaster led out 30,000 on the 3 turn. Lopez called while Chiu got out of the way.

Lancaster would fire another bet, this time of 40,000, when the 4 hit the river, and another quick call followed from Lopez. Lancaster shook his head while he tabled his 76 for a failed bluff, while Lopez had turned trips with his 32 and raked in another pot.

Meanwhile, one table behind, Dmitrii Kuzin was eliminated.

Tim Van Loo opened 27,000 in middle position, and a player called on his left before the button did the same.

The dealer fanned a flop of KJ10, and Van Loo checked to the middle position player who fired a bet of 21,000 into the middle. The button folded, and Van Loo made the call.
