Parry Returns to the Chip Lead; Matakis Looking For Second Bracelet of the Summer!
Day 3 of Event #82: $3,000 Pot Limit Omaha 6-Handed at the 2023 World Series of Poker has come to a close. The day started with the goal of thinning the field down from 35 hopefuls to five finalists, and that's exactly how many players will return to Horseshoe and Paris Las Vegas for the Day 4 finale to chase the $480,122 first-place prize and the WSOP gold bracelet that awaits the champion.
Coming back to the biggest chip stack will be Matthew Parry, who intends to use his 13,105,000 chips to close out his first bracelet win. Also returning for the final day will be Dustin Goldklang (11,490,000), Cuba Levenberry (4,915,000) and Lawrence Wayne (2,200,000).

One other player will be returning as well, and it's safe to say that all eyes will be on him as Ian Matakis (8,835,000), who currently leads the Player of the Year race by 437 points, will lock in his 19th cash of the summer, his fourth final table and will make a push to win his second bracelet of the 2023 WSOP. Doing so would almost certainly make him a mathematical lock to take POY honors in what has been an absolute breakout summer for the young pro.
Notable players that returned for Day 3 but did not bag for the finale included Norbert Szecsi (32nd - $13,343), Lukas Zaskodny (28th - $16,184), Kane Kalas (24th - $16,184), Day 1 chip leader Tyler Gaston (19th - $20,000), Brandon Shack-Harris, who was eliminated in a brutal set over set confrontation (12th - $25,177) and Connor Drinan (6th - $75,517).
The final five players will return at 1:00 p.m. local time with about half of Level 29 remaining to play at blinds of 80,000/160,000 and a big blind ante of 160,000. There will be a scheduled 15-minute break after every two levels, and play is scheduled to continue until a winner has been crowned.
