Following the conclusion of Level 7 on Day 2d on Saturday, registration has closed in the 2023 World Series of Poker (WSOP) Main Event with 10,043 players, creating a prize pool of $93,399,900 .
When this record-breaking tournament wraps next week. The winner will take home a cool $12,100,000. No one knows exactly who that lucky and skilled individual will be — the tournament hasn't even reached the money bubble — but it won't be the defending champion, Espen Jorstad, who was sent to the rails on Day 2abc Friday when his flopped set ran into a straight.
Players are being sent on their 75-minute dinner break. Play will resume at 8:28 p.m. local time.
Tournament officials are also racing off the purple 500-denomination chips. Additionally, the tournament clock shows 369 players - with 358 getting paid, the bubble will likely be burst soon after play resumes.
Stefan DeLorenzo raised to 20,000 preflop from the button, with the big blind coming along.
The flop came 9♠K♥J♦, which saw both players check. The 7♦ also brought no action from either player.
The J♠ came on the river, and DeLorenzo had action checked to him again. He bet 20,000, and his opponent eventually folded. DeLorenzo pulled in a much-needed pot as the bubble approaches.

A player in late position raised and Federico Quevedo called from the big blind.

Federico Quevedo: 8♠5♠
Late Position: K♦K♣
The late-position player was drawing dead. A Q♦ turn and J♦ river would be irrelevant.
"I was drawing to the 9♠, but it never shows up," Quevedo joked. "I run so bad."
